coming back on the e40 after Spa and there was a car buried in the field next to the motorway, looked a real mess and about 15 cars had stopped and police everywhere.

i couldnt see what car it was as it was unrecognisable but i hope it nobody off here and i also hope whoever was inside is ok, but they would be very lucky:bigcry:

I'm just in after an 'emotional' trip home. I had my head out the window whilst driving to get fresh air to help stay awake!

Glad to be back - great weekend though!

I'm back, great trip, good to meet up with a few of you guys.

Disappointed I didn't get a clear lap on slicks but the theoretical best from the data logger data on the train on the way back cheered me up a little.

Shimmy was flying :D

I wish all trackdays were run to the european rules rather than the nannying ones we have in the UK.

PS. Shimmy - did you have to drive all the way home in limp home mode?

My gearbox light that came on in the first session and then seemed to come on for 2/3rds of all sessions went out on the way home, self fixing cars are the way forward :)

Arrive home 9.45pm, with no back brakes, steel to steel . I had a spare set of pads with me but was to lazy to change them. (Muppet)
Had a great weekend it was good to meet up with you all and put some faces to the names.
I saw the accident on E40. One car was bedded into a motorway sign board, 10 foot in the air, makes trackdays look safe ! ! ! There was one person on the lying on the hard shoulder, not looking to good.

Strange how the cars had stopped but traffic was still moving at 50-60 mph. That car must have left the road in the air for there to be no queue....

WHERE ARE YOU ALEX?

Shimmy - AlexGTT was staying in Spa last night, David (FR) and dave1 left earlier in the day.

I love it how you can drive to the Ring and Spa in the CSL, rag its nuts off over 2 days and then drive home in comfort again - all without a hitch! :hahaha:

What a great day

I was the 2nd Driver in Nathan's CSL, had a blast getting my head around slicks, monster brakes and 150bhp more than I am used to, the car handled beautifully but cords showing through the slicks by the afternoon meant we didn't get a chance to do any solo runs.

Good to see you again Shimmy, and meet a few other, it was good fun chasing Curly in the CSL Cup car for a couple of laps ;)

Cracking few days at the Ring and the trackday at the spa (didnt race but got passenger laps) was also a great day!!

It was the first time i had driven the Ring in anger with a fast car, then i went out with Rob (Glendog) and nearly shat my pants :hahaha:, the AP's and Cups make the standard CSL seem :gayfight: - so big thanks to the David & Rob for taking the time to teach me a few lines of the Ring

Wasnt all uneventful, after getting a knocking noise from the rear left (souned like a loose spanner in the boot, running over rough is roads), i got 30 miles from Calais and noticed my battery light on when i accelerated (turned off when i eased off), 2 miles from Calais and the light was constantly on, got to queue for the Ferry and it cut out, managed to get in on the ferry after a lot of jumps but it wasnt holding charge :bigcry:

Got a booster pack to get me off the ferry and onto the Marina, 4 hours later the flatbed arrives, i get a courtesy car as the AA said it would be relayed 3 times from Dover to Derby :(. The car i was given was a bright green Ford Ka!!! It now has a Ring sticker on it :hahaha:

Car set to arrive tonight @ 11:45pm

What's the panic guys, I'm all good. As Rob said, I stayed in Spa and got back home last night. A smooth cruise home at 80 all the way and 31mpg.:gayfight: Flight through a sign on the E40 does not sound good.:(

Great to see you all again. Thanks to John for the RS15's. I was also down to the metal by 4pm. Pads from my old smoker that performed so well at the first Cup race. I almost shead a tear I was so emotional.:hahaha:

Glad you got home ok Rob. Not surprised you were knackered. Next time have an easy night in Spa with us. It was great sitting down to some cool beers, steak and a good bottle of plonk at 8pm. :tonqe:

Thanks Alex - i really should have stayed but just wanted to get home in the end. I was cursing myself on the English side as i fought to stay awake and not 'park' the car in a verge somewhere! :hahaha:

Hopefully see you again soon - you planning any Ring trips? ;)

Car arrived at 00:45 :banghead:

I noticed the car had been loaded front end first (at Dover was back end first), the towing eye was still attached to the rear but they had hitched their tow wire under my bumper and on to the chassis. When lowering it one of the kidneys popped loose and ive noted some paint flecks on the bumper where the tension was. :bigcry::bigcry:

Took some photos but im getting a bodyshop to repair and get me 2 new kidneys and a full front end respray, the AA said i need to forward photos to them for the claim but they were fairly easy going about it - just he hassle of it :(

On a mpg note i got from Derby to Brugge on 1 tank of V-Power @ 31mpg (that included some blasting on belgium motorways). YOu have to love the 100 RON fuel out there
