I'm not sure why people are hung up on the amount of owners... as long as its in good nick thats all that matters.

Wouldn't worry about owners to be honest as cars like these can change hands each year. Look how many have bought and sold on here in the last year...I am the 6th owners of mine and I've had no issues. Condition and history is what you need to go for.

I admit that a CSL might be bought by someone, not realising how hardcore they are and how it doesn't really suit them. However I would prefer not to have 6 owners in 25K miles. It could mean nothing, it could mean that it has been sold on fast. It also makes it harder to track down all the previous owners for an honest opinion of the car.

I would simply prefer less owners. I think most would say, if you had a choice between 2 CSLs, one of which had 2 owners, the other 6, they looked the same, had the same miles and had been checked over by an expert and been judged as good as eachother, you are going to choose the 2 owner one. Obvious really.

PS Been run off my feet over the last 4 days, I'm posting that letter to you today. Shout if you haven't seen it by Weds...

Mine has 6 previous owners and its spot in :), just about to top 70k and get an Inspection 1 tomorrow, ready for the trip to the CSLs promise land "The Green Hell"

I see your point over 6 owners in 25k but its often reflected in the price

I would agree if there was a choice of a lower no. owners but...
How I look at it is, if its had many owners just imagine what condition it will be in. You always polish a new toy and then it slightly wears off. So with 6 owner it should be as mint as cosmicboys

Agree about the # of owners, they are the sort of car that are likely to have a few lucky custodians!

Reg is HY04LEJ if anyone knows it.

Number of owners is not the reason to reject a car, not for me anyway. If it's good, it's good and that's it. Cars like these change hands because people find them too extreme, as previously mentioned. Mine has only 3 previous owners but I wouldn't care if it was 8. I made my selection on other more important criteria.

Well yes, but 6-8 owner might be a clue that it is a lemon and people have moved it on quickly, once for example they have discovered it is a Rockingham car and it uses a litre of oil in 300-400 miles etc.....

Well if it is a Rockingham car that is another reason, not because it's high owner turnover.

Anyone know what this car went for?

Im 50/50 on this owner thing.

It does put me off to an extent, cos to me its almost as if they bought it for a bit of fun and shifted it on when the novelty was gone ie. giving it a bloody good kicking. Fine if its warmed up, yes - but if you only intend on owning it a few months then flogging it - why would you care about the long term adverse effects?

Think how you treat a demo / courtesy car

Anyone know what this car went for?

A dealer friend of mine was at that auction and remembers seeing the CSL. ( He was there to buy Mitsubishi Shoguns) He said the CSL was in A1 condition and 'thinks' it was sold for £20K.
