Ive just bought a set of 2nd hand Michelin Sport Cups off Justin for a track day at Oulton Park this saturday. What pressures do you reccommend in dry coolish temperature (10 oC). Says 30 in the maunual i think but maybe this is a bit high for track use?

Thanks. Forecast is for light rain most of the day now :banghead: Going to have to squeeze the power on gently !!

Maybe aim for a bit higher (hot) in the wet. Cups are very good in the wet when they're working properly. Just don't go attacking any rivers across the track!

Didn't notice the "Oulton Park" bit, may pop along later if I get chance. Looking out of the window, albeit 20 miles away, appears it could be a nice skiddy day

Not been on the forum for a few days, just seen the posts about coming down. I had an amazing day. Car was incredible round the track. Scary in the morning in the damp with the traction control off ! My Car is totally standard and the brakes were not up to the job. The pads were well worn before the day and after about 20 laps they were down to nothing. Had such bad brake fade and a lond pedal. Managed to get some new pads fitted (standard ones) but even then they still went off after about 3 laps!

I was quicker than everything except a few track/racing cars and quicker than most of those too! Was on some second hand cups which were very grippy. My Dad reckons a was doing 2.02 lap time on the full track. Think thats quite fast. Anyone know any times??

I also saw an SG CSL parked up in the paddock with the Reg. CSL FU. Think thats someone on here? Didnt see the owner. Nice Plate tho !

Hi "Dont do bends" I dont know you real name ! lol. Yeah i thought my time was ok. I could definately get under 2 mins with some uprated pads/disks. I was losing a lot of time under braking. I wasnt driving at 10 tenths either cos i was scared of binning it. Only had her 3 weeks ! Would love to upgrade the brakes but i really couldnt afford to right now. What times were you doing? It was hard to get clear laps. The last hour was the best. Hardly any traffic at all....

I went down the garages a couple of times but guess you were out on track. When I was on pit wall a SG CSL did a touring car flash of headlights across s/f line, looked great!

Hi SMD. Your car looked good. Nice Wheels. Is yours the one for sale on pistonheads? I would have probably bought that if i hadnt found mine. Is very reasonably priced i think...:supz: You should have seen the pads that came off. Down to the metal, i was lucky that there was someone there with some front pads to fit. Still need new rears. Would love the AP Kit but cant afford it at the mo.
