Chaps,

I've decided to remove the front plate as I think it looks better without it. I've removed the two screws which 'appear' to hold the surround on but it's not clear to me how I now remove the surround. I am guessing it's a case of levering it off but I don't want to take the chance of scratching the bumper without knowing exactly what I am doing.

Help!

James.

The surround should have its own screws on it ??

Depends if someone has messed about with it already before you , but mine had 3 screws holding the surround on :thumbs:

you might be lucky and they havn't screwed it to your bumper - can you not see where the screws should be?

Note part numbers 17 here. Those should be the only screws holding it in place, maximum of 3 really. Two top left and right, maybe one in the middle.
Pull out at the top and then down. There are wee lips on the bottom edge holding it into the bumper. I've had mine off half a dozen times recently after getting my bumper repaired

you will have to get the screw holes filled and the bumper repainted for a proper job mate....

Thank god I'm not the only one that can live with the holes left after removing the plynth. I had a smaller plate on it for a while but have returned to standard since having my bumper repaired. After all, change is good.

I knew I would wish I'd filled in the holes when my bumper was away getting painted! DOH!

One of the good things of Switzerland, the front plates are TINY.
So the CSL does not have a number plate holder.

Check mine ->
I can have a look how many holes there are.

I know people say that 'so what if there are holes, there should be a numberplate covering them' but dealers must be stupid to have screwed the plate+holder to the carbon fibre bumpers.
