cant decide what tyres to run on saturday, got the PS2's on the car at the moment and a set of cups fitted to a second set of wheels. leaving for north wales tomorrow afternoon so i have to decide which set of wheels to run in advance of the trackday on saturday.

forcast is for showers.

if it turns out to be dry i will fook up a brand new set of PS2 and wish i had the cups on for the extra grip.

if i fit the cups and it rains all day i will wish i had run the ps2's and my day will be spent driving half pace.

what would you do??? :banghead:

looking at this report i would run cups.

hot cups on light rain will be fine

Put the cups in the boot/backseat. I have heard Anglesey is tough on tyres; if it is dry it will kill your PS2s...

the old track was hard on the tyres but the new one isnt so much.

the cups are fitted to another set of wheels and don't think you can fit 4 wheels in the csl without damaging the interior.

its been dry and blue sky here for the last two days

keep changing my mind on which to fit..

The back seat needs to go down. I have some tyre bags to keep them in, but I have found the best way is get 2 tyres in and upright on top of the back seat. Bring the third in between them and place the fourth in so you can shut the boot. Then move the 'third' one back and then bring the two upright ones gently down. The bags do help!

I have tried squeezing a set of wheels onto the back seat.

They fit - just!

I laid out an old sheet/towel around them to minimise marks and stood them upright - side by side. The 'tyre bags' idea sounds interesting though!

if you have a long chain and padlock , you can chain the spare wheels and trolley jack at track

It's North Wales, it will no doubt rain...

Both of you stick to road tyres - comparable tyre performance - less fannying about! :gayfight:

we have gone for the cups.

last time we were there in the E36 M3 we ran full slicks all day and it was wet/damp drizzle. we were the quickest there and this has decided it.

Mark, you made the right choice. Cups will be fine unless it rains hard but then you can always just do some entertaining drift action if the heavens open.

Actually, your already there enjoying your day. Let us know how you get on.:smokin:

yeah, we had some MASSIVE four wheel drifts in the M3, but no spins IIRC.

Was quite funny lunchtime, me and Radders sat in the cafe, looking out at the M3, and a few of the caterham/westfield drivers who we had spanked wandered over to it and were peering at the tyres, they did a physical double take when they saw the Mich slicks on it, was hilarious

Right, unfortunately I'm in Northern Ireland and the CSL is in Wellsway Bath for a Insp2, but I'll try to draw a picture. Can someone post up a picture of the imnside of a CSL with the rear seats down and the boot open. Take the pic from the front seats looking back. Cheers!

you can get at least 7 tyres/wheels in the CSL

I have 4 in the back seats, 2 in the boot and 1 on passenger seat.

Just be careful if you dont put the rear seats down you can mark the plastic trip like between rear seats and rear of front seats and middle rear seat divider. They need blankets to stop the rubbing!

got up this morning to find it pissing down and then it turned to snow :bigcry:

made the drive to Anglesey a interesting one but as soon as we got within 20-30 miles the blue sky appeared and we enjoyed a sunny dry day at the track.

pics to follow..
