Hi guys,

my carbon roof has little scratches on it. How can I remove these ?

Anyone did this before ?

With some kind of polish ? What is a safe way to do this ?

Thx !

I will not do it myself, that's for sure :clown: but I just wanna hear some info and experiences here, if it is possible at all ?

Def get a professional as would imagine it would be difficult to do a DIY job. I have a few light ones on my roof but with a good wax they don't notice to be honest.

Steven, aslong as the scratches are not too deep these can be taken out by hand using a polish such as Menz 106ff. Carbon fiber can be polished same as paint although the laquear isnt as thick so wouldnt use nothing to agrressive.

A finishing polish such as 106ff will bring a nice gloss and restore clarity and remove surface scratching and swirls.

I had a real deep scratch on my roof that I repaired myself - it was real deep and almost warranted a respray of the whole thing (would not polish out) - but given that it was only 1cm in length I decided to attack it myself with wet and dry sand paper and a lot of polishing - rather proud of the finish product actually - unless you looked for it, you wouldn't really notice it. Can't say I got the deep scratch completely out as it was too deep, but definitely 85% better.

Definitely not for the faint hearted though - took a lot of polishing and cutting to get rid of the wet and dry marks.
