I did a quote with and without the gruppe m and was astonished at the difference in price. Kwikfit wanted £500 odd extra ! Do you tell them or keep schtum - i think i know what I will be doing!

Yes. I'm amazed anyone would risk their insurance company using the non-disclosure of material fact to wriggle out of a claim.

Yes - always. Not worth the aggro 'in the event of...'
Haven't got any :bigcry: (mods that is, not insurance!)

I had a similar issue when i had a Stage 2 mod done - it almost doubled my premium! Their justification: "It's already more than powerful enough as standard" Cnuts...
Anyway, i reverted to a Stage 1 tune to placate them. Cnuts...
Insurance gets my goat but is a necessary evil :banghead:

Yep, I had to carefully find an insurer which would take the focus ST with remapping to just under 25% extra power. Coughed to the mods on the CSL and they were very interested to know if the APs were larger than std. I explained the calipers were, but they said they meant the rotors??? Coughed to the remap and explained no more peak power just smoother lower down and they weren't very bothered. I did have to tell them several times it was a CSL and not 'just' an M3 coupe...

I'm with Keith Michaels and i have declared all mods, AP's, exhaust, remap, KW's and they turned out to be £400 cheaper than Tesco's without the mods
I get trackday cover from them at £60 per trackday.
I was recommended to them by the guys on the Bigpower forum and i'm really happy with them so far....

I'm also with Keith Micheals, exhaust and big brakes declared, great quotes and been with them quite a few years now, highly recommended - a true specialist who knows their cars :smokin:

I recently moved insurance to the Post Office who are agents,
I original told them of the AP brakes when I took out the insurance,
then as I did other upgrades ie exhaust and suspension, they just added it to my policy F.O.C.
