Now bmw don’t Supply original gear box oil. Presumably replaced with shell,, can anybody confirm that is was originally castrol syntrans B 75. ??? May as well do it before Trackday fun...... Ps I wonder what bmw now use in a oil service :whistle::whistle: after all the fuss regarding service history :blalalala:

Miraculously now that they have switched to Shell as their oil supply partner - this is now all of a sudden good enough for the engine :banghead:.
However, I wouldn't deviate from the BMW OEM choice of LT2 (Catsrol Syntrans B75) as not all 75w80s are the same. The hot and cold viscosity seems to vary quite considerably and it has been anecdotally reported that the gear change can become difficult with other oils.

Hi mike I’ve found some information regarding this and looks like the syntrans b75 w. Is the correct oil. It relates to the bmw part number specific for smg 2,,,,2 Lt’s syntrans £28 inc delivery ,, new oem £48 :smokin:
