An old 2003 Turbo bodied C4S - Bought as the daily driver, whilst I have a short commute. 26MPG so near the same as the old CSL.
Not quite as mad as the CSL, but still has the presence, cant believe that I have again ended up with a black car!!!
EDIT- AUG 2018 - Now Sold.

Congrats jonny
I have a bit of a soft spot for old audis, while lacking behind on the driving dynamics but they are very reliable. Love your RS4. :smt055
Both are great Cars, But wouldn't the RS4 make for a better daily than the 911?

cheers.
I know what you mean, the M3 chassis is one of the best in the world, so the RS can't compete for giving feedback, but in its defence, the Bi-turbo makes up for it, and with the Quattro 4x4 its well planted when nailing it.

The RS4 is a bit full on for everyday, and 20 MPG, mileage again pays a big factor, and keeping it lower is important. The estate is only needed for taking the dogs, and finally I'm not a fan of manuals, but its only option with this car.
The C4S is more docile, auto and smooth as a silk, and purrs like a happy cat, unless you really give it the gas, and gives good mpg for a 3.6 auto 4x4, I get 26.5 MPG on average, so that's same as my old M3 CSL.

Has a B5 RS4 for a few years in Avus as well.
Hitec interior? That's better than the leather.
Tuned mine up a but to c510bhp/ft lbs. Was a bit rapid.
I’ve bought an RS4 B7 Avant manual what a great car

I also did the same a couple of years ago, CSL went and bought a B5 as a replacement toy. Don't use it all that much, but I'm still very fond of it
Took it down to the Eifel Rallye last July. Never managed to find the limiter on the Bahn, but it was just rock solid at 160+

Well, as is usual with me, after 6 months, I have managed to keep my license, but the B5 has now gone.
So the C4s is now the toy, but must admit I still miss my first Sapphire CSL even with its 114K Miles. and 9 owners ;0)

Was the RS too tame for a weekend fun toy or why did you sell it? And what do you have in mind as next car?

The RS4 looks cool stood still, but is still a quite a heavy estate car, and when not in the turbo, is quite tame, they are quiet too in standard trim, so you don't get the same blast experience you do with say, a CSL.
After buying the Porsche and driving it 2000 miles, I decided that it would be better to run it at the weekends and special days, 1. to keep the miles off, and hopefully help it hold its price, and 2. they are quite stiff on the bumpy lanes, so a bit of comfort is needed as one gets older.
The RS4 is very good car, but I found that it as it was a comfy estate, it felt more like the practical daily than the C4S, though the manual gearbox, and 21 MPG meant that for me that wasn't possible. Plus the mileage really affects the price.
As for the next car, sadly as I have now bought my Mrs a small DS3, I have settled for a E92 325D M Sport Tourer for my daily and dog vehicle (in essence replacing the RS4), and the C4S will be the special one, shame its not a Turbo, but I think I'd kill myself, as the C4S is quick enough when you hit the loud peddle.
Shame the CSL's have gone up gain, as that would be the C4S's natural replacement now that my 911 itch has been truly scratched.

RS4 - Sensible replacement. Low power 3.0 Diesel M Sport. For work, dogs and wallet.

Was the RS too tame Must just say, that the 2.7 Bi Turbo was not tame, and the B5 delivered everything I had heard about them, they are a beast, especially for a 17 Year old unit, I can only imagine what a 500BHP tuned version is like.

Seeing the RS4 behind the Dakar E36 reminded me of my past....

Very well jonny, the E91 is a good choice. It would make a good pair though, the E91 and the CSL... just saying :hahaha:

I'm sure I don't know what you mean lol.
When I had my first CSL, the Sapphire Black 100+ Miler, I ended up buying a 2008 Tourer, but bought the wrong engine, as went for a 320I thinking it would be good on fuel and a sensible choice, but as it was gutless, so I got bored, then swapped it for a 2003 RS6, it broke, and that triggered me having to see the CSL in the first place.
Ironically 2. They were both Sapphire black, and now even though there is no black CSL's in the near future, there is the Black C4S :hahaha:

That's freaky - I woke up this morning thinking "I wonder where my old SB is and how many miles are on it now ????
Where are you now "RX53 LVP" ????????? I know the chap I sold it too sold it within 6 months or so, and the next owner emailed me about its history, but wasn't a member of this site. After that, no idea.

My last pair, before the madness that leads me to today, after a RS6, Dakar V8 M3, SG CSL, B5 RS4 and now the 325 / C4S Pairing.

Cheers.
Its no CSL, but at a price point I can afford to drive and enjoy. Its even been to a couple of shows in the 2 weeks I've owned it.
The Carbon roof, and front splitters are a reminder though to my SG.
