So I'm planning a refresh on my suspension just wondering what's the best shocks to go for do I keep it oem? Or go aftermarket? Price wise shocks from the dealer are expensive so what's the best alternative on the market or can I get the same Sachs shocks from another source? Thoughts?

I switched to Bilstein B14 and think they are great. Good to have the adjustability when you head to the track.

Which bilstein model would best suit just road use or offer the closest match to the oem set up ?

I bought new rear OEM shocks from BMW Online, around £180 each :bigcry:

Out of interest are the shocks and springs found on an e46 cs the same as the csl shocks and springs ?

Normal M3 rear shocks have a different number and are cheaper.
What's the difference ? CSL Tax maybe ?

Front shocks including bump stops and bearings cost nearly £600 from the dealers. Bilstein b6 shocks any one fitted these ?

No idea but with the B14s you can adjust them till you are happy. There is nothing magical about the OEM items, the Bilsteins are a much higher quality item. Serviceable too when the time comes.
