so cups are gone and you can't find a "new" set. "new" because they are all actually 2012 production.

so what do we use? a cup2 is rather ideal as it has deep thread and grippy but pricey. Has anyone else used something that is ROAD LEGAL? like R888R? or something else reasonably priced and for dry use only?

I think the best available track tyres road legal are Pirelli Trofeo R.

I found the Yoko AD08R a good balance of cost and performance
