View Full Version : Aston Martin V12 Vantage (manual)
Hello everyone,
I was offered a beautiful Aston Martin V12 Vantage and would like to know your opinions on this car.
It is a 2009 model with the manual gearbox.
It is in my opinion one of the most beautiful cars in production and I would love a V12 with a manual gearbox.
Of course, I would need to sell the CSL and I cannot really convince myself to do that.
Kind regards,
Alex

Love it Alex.
Only negative comment I have heard about these is the quality of the paint (of all things !) from an ex owner. But a V12 and manual....mega
Awesome sure to go up in value
I would really love it, but I cannot see myself selling the CSL...
Another thing is that I'm sure the CSL is a better car to drive.
Did anyone drive a V12 Vantage?

I have driven a V8 Vantage with the manual gearbox and I own a DB9 which has the same V12 and a manual gearbox. I drove the CSL and the DB9 both today, the CSL felt a lot more precise, edgier and has a great character to it. The AM engine really comes alive about 4000rpm and sounds amazing. I have the sportskit which gives a slightly stiffer chassis amd lower ride height and the ride is fantastic. I would jump at the chance to get a V12 Vantage, to me they are one of the best Astons out there. At least have a decent test drive in it. A V12 Vantage will weigh less and have more power than my DB9, mine is a 2007 car with 450hp. It doesn't feel as fast as the CSL, but of the road cars I have it gets closest to the throttle response of the CSL.

Thank you for your precious advice and feedback.
The DB9 is a very nice car and it's nice to have 4 seats.
As I said, I would sell the CSL if I purchased the V12 and this would be a very hard decision to make...

The Aston Martin is a better car than the CSL.
It does not look like a 316i with a bodykit to 99.9% of the people like the CSL does.

Been in the passenger seat of one and it was brilliant. The interior felt more special than the CSL and the overall feeling I got from being around a manual V12 AM surpassed the CSL. Hard to say whether it's better, that's just personal choice.
If I could get into a V12s manual I'd make the move.

If I had the space and the money I would get it especially as it is a manual. I would love one. Aston Martin did release a special (I got the feeling one of the last) car in the past 12 months that was a manual with dog leg gearbox.
Bugger all this lazy paddle shift malarky :hahaha:

I agree
I wanted to chop my Csl for v12 vantage it's an awesome super car
In my opinion a different league
It's more a super car toured then a car that can go from the road to a track the drive you back home which is what my Csl does and I guess many others.
What I was worried about is that it's so close to the jaguar xkrs in the sense it's more a gentlemans sports car then us guys who love to drive the nuts off it.
I would be torn
At the time one I looked at in Brentwood am was £89k and they offered me a £40k chop for mine.didnt go for it in the end I thought Csl was worth more

I do like the look of the V12V, but what scares me off as a daily is the fuel consumption. They can nearly overtaking everything on the road bar a service station.
Thank you all for your feedback.
After reading threads like this one, I don't want to trade the CSL :-)
