hi folks

Next year it's going to be the 15th anniversary of the M3 CSL.
I think it would be great to organize another Munich trip which should be combined with a track event (possibly Hockenheim).

Hockenheim on the other hand though, will probably ruin my brakes :bigcry:

1200 miles round trip x how many CSLs? This is going to cost £1mil in depreciation alone, unless we can literally get ALL csls to go along or have someone clock them all when we get back to Folkestone :hahaha:

If they don't come back to me by Wednesday, we can consider this topic closed.

In any case, BMW does not seem to be excited that a group of BMW enthusiasts with a special BMW car want to meet in their headquarters.

hi all

I am afraid I don't have positive news.
I was not able to discuss with the responsible person as he has initially been sick.
After me chasing via email, he called me one day out of the blue while I was in the middle of a meeting.
I explained I cannot speak and I asked him to arrange a slot to speak.
I felt he found it bizarre that I could not speak (?).
He did not get back to me via email, I tried to call him], no answer.
Then after a couple of emails I arranged a slot to speak over the phone today.
The person did not call and after I emailed asking why he has not called me, he said he was busy in another meeting.

I am stopping today this attempt as I don't have the time to be ignored for several months by the BMW Group.
It is my personal opinion and experience that BMW is not interested in the fanatics of the brand.

If someone wants to give it a try, please do so.

Hello, guys

Seems like time runs and we are getting nowhere here!
So what I want to ask is, how many of us (at this moment) would be up for a meeting and drive somewhere in central Europe ( Possibly visiting BMW in Munich). Can try to see if we can get a trackday as well.

If BMW doesnt respond, I can try to make a plan for a meeting/trip. I am
based in Scotland but want to have a trip in Europe!
Can You please comment if You would be up for it and where are You based. So we can see the who is where and plan things. Maybe if Bmw doesnt care we could get in touch with some tracks in case some of them would fancy some publicity with 30CSL turning up on their ground.

Let me know Your thoughts

Hello Everyone and thanks for your enthusiasm.
Here at BMW UK there are lots of E46 CSL fans and as many of you know, we have a cherished one on our press fleet.
We'd like to see if we can help you get in touch with BMW Welt to mark the 15 year anniversary. We're not in a position to make any promises, but we'll certainly ask the question and do our best to get something arranged. Early indications from our contacts in Munich sound promising but it's important for us to notify them early as the events calendar fills-up fast. In the meantime please start thinking about dates and attendee numbers, as this will help us.
If the OP is the nominated organiser, please get in touch via private message. (Note: We won't be checking this regularly, so get in touch with us in the normal way - via bmw.co.uk/contactus - for anything unrelated to this).
We hope we can help you celebrate.

Hello guys,

I just talked to the responsible person for Communications and Social Media at the BMW Welt.

He would help us if we would like to organize a meeting at BMW Welt.
He would reserve the area in front of BMW Welt. He is still trying to find a contact person of M GmbH.

We have to give him a date proposal and he would check the availability.

There are still many days free in august. Whether Monday, Tuesday, ... Saturday, Sunday does not matter.

We should have scheduled the event at least 4 weeks in advance. Better 6 weeks before.

He would be happy if the meeting took place here in munich, but he can not do a film about it, because the content would be the same as the 10 year old meeting.

Now we need a few more suggestions as to when it would suit us. How do we do this?

Greetings from munich
Nico

There are also days available in may, june, july but here are holidays and not much events in the Welt.
On 28 july BMW Welt is closed the whole weekend.

in April are the "M Days" but there is the area in front of the Welt closed.
Pergaps we could find another place for example BMW Classic.

Hi Alex,

I understand you're annoyed but if BMW are reaching out to you please don't let the trail go cold simply out of spite for one rude employee, there's a lot of people here who perhaps didn't own a CSL last time this happened for the 10 year anniversary, couldn't make it for whatever reason or just would like to get out and meet some fellow owners since it seems barely any get driven any more.

I don't know what to suggest, I'm unbelievably busy with work from now until the end of May so I'm not sure what I could do but if you could PM me some details maybe I could make a phone call or two...

All the best
BMW UK

At last - someone out in BMW land likes us :hahaha:

Nico

Considering the above, all I have to say is :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha:

Thank you BMW for the treatment to owners of one of the most special BMW M cars !

Let's do a long weekend stopover, beers and track day in the UK in June / July.

+1. Need some dates as there is always summer hols with the boss to consider.

Hopefully we can start planning something for the 20th anniversary. Maybe Roland will be able to help

Just like any other big organisation, don’t care Unless they think it will affect the bank balance , do your own service work ,spend cash elsewhere , use as much free warranty , ha ha ha but I’ve done this for 12 years..

I'm not sure that's too accurate or fair on BMW, Chad. Had you attended the 10 year anniversary trip you would have seen that BMW went far and above where they needed to.
The time, effort and expense they put into making us all feel welcome was, I thought, absolutely incredible given they didn't really gain anything from it. A tour of the Welt, access to the museum, M division with presentation, took us all out for lunch, brilliant day.

I'm sure in 5 years time the 20th anniversary would be celebrated in a similar manner (Just my opinion!).

So they should when you buy 2 m cars and many thousands on parts , personally I’ve never been offered a days driving a new range of m cars , unlike after buying C class and getting full day driving full range amg’s, properly fed and watered,at posh hotel golf course in Cheshire,

We where properly looked after by BMW on the 10th anniversary.

Had a free half day at J Palmer from our local dealer & they let me take out a M5 on my own for a decent time.
Not used them for a few years as the mechanic moved on so I can't complain about not being looked after.

Yes... after all we are not clients and we didn't pay a lot of money for purchasing and maintaining these cars.
Are you taking the piss mate ? Because I have been trying for half a year to organize something and BMW has ignored me epically. I only have 3 M cars, so not important for the franchise.

BMW went above and beyond for the 10th and they should be applauded for that. We had a great time.

Personally, I bought the car for the car. I know how much it costs, how much it'll be to run and the enjoyment I derive from it. I don't expect to receive any special favours from BMW, particularly on a 15 year old car, but if they come, then fine.

Big hand to the guys on this thread for trying to pursue this with BMW. I think it'd be great to repeat 2013 (with or without BMW contribution !) but seriously, you shouldn't be that surprised they're not jumping on this and scrambling to host us ! Not everyone wears the same rose tinted specs....even the manufacturer!
