Will be testing an m3 cup car on a normal MSV track day at Oulton next Tuesday 21st Feb. If anyone with race license fancies a go, im not sure, but I t might possibly possible to arrange. Would help me share the cost of the shakedown and think team will be interested as they organise then series and want to get more people in.

This looks a good series if everyone sticks to the regs.
How did testing go and more important, what times;)

Testing was a blast. Car felt good and was great fun in the dry, but then it got Damp and greasy from mid-morning and meant concentration levels had to go up a bit. A couple of big fishtail moments out of first corner made my hoop twitch! :hahaha: Was from then on a battle to get and keep heat in the Nankang tyres, which perform well to be fair. As did the supposedly cheapy brakes, couldn't fault them really. Shocks could probably be better but to be honest everything was easily more up to the job than me.
We couldn't time unfortunately. Oulton were really hot on it, way more than I have seen before. We did obviously try and time and though we were being stealth by hiding a vbox sport in the car...but it wasn't logging:bigcry: I think we we were doing similar times to Ginetta GT5 (as there was one there), but in very different ways (lower corner speed, higher top end speeds). I got absolutely humiliated by an e36 M3 race car on rallycross tyres in the wet in the afternoon :banghead:
So no idea on times, didn't change the setup once and got owned by a car at least 10yrs older. Perfect! Still, definitely think the series should be a goer. Can't wait till first round. Just hope they are on top of any cheating.

Oh, and a Lewis-a-like and a load of Stormtroopers were wandering around the paddock:hahaha:

This does look good value if everyone sticks to the rules/regs.
Good luck and keep us updated:thumbs::beer:

Sounds good. I shared the test at Donington with you (:banghead:)
Shame they wouldn't let you time, I guess they know people are testing at this time of year coming into race season!
Are you going to build a car yourself or hire one?
