Hi
Been away for a while.
Hope everyone is doing well?
Am looking for some inspiration...
I'm contemplating moving the CSL on but struggling with what to change it for. Current thoughts are a 2007/2008 997TT manual OE an R8 V10.
Thoughts on these two as a alternatives or any other suggestions?
Budget is max £70k but ideally <£60k. Use is as a weekend fun car. Ideally one that won't lose a load over time too...
I'm planning a Ring/Spa trip over Easter which may be the last hurrah in CSL so looking at changing around then.

997 gt3 "expensive"
I looked at R8 but think they are a little footballers wives

GTS might be a possibility ad I like the idea of a 'special'.
Not keen on the others.
Still gave a deposit down on an M2 CSL/GTS but no news on them yet...

My choice would be an Exige cup for a weekend toy. Had a ride round Donny, very impressive.
Next would be a Caterham, or Atom. Fond memories of my few years with the Caterham & Atom was lovely on track.
Regarding Pork I preferred the Cayman over the 911. Both driven at PEC with one of their instructors. Would love to have a go in the gt3 versions
Had a Cayman recently for two consecutive weekends, while a nice drive I just found it boring.
Funny wife loves the r8 and I find it interesting, but I think it will be too large on the road. Maybe I should listen to her and take a test drive.

In my opinion theres not much that is compareable to the enjoyment of driving a csl apart from GT3's.
Porsche Turbo - Very fast, but the imo the fascination wears off rather quickly. Just doesn't feel very special apart from the horsepower.
Also has no sound .
R8 V10 - Looks stunning imho but i have not driven one yet, so can't comment. But definitely not a good track car, if you have that in mind.
Just to give you a few more ideas, lotus exige v6, corvette c6 z06, Ferrari 360/F430 those are not a nightmare in maintenance compared to older ferraris.

I did say, not a money pit?!
Can't see how any Fezza can be described as reasonable maintenance cars?

I didn't say reasonable :blalalala:
If you avoid the dealerships its not anymore expensive than an R8.
