Was wondering today after going out in the CSL - my one has a 0 on the dash when I am in neutral and I know later ones have an N when in neutral. Does this follow through on the gearstick? i.e. mine has a 0 on the gearstick - do those who have N in neutral have an N on the gearstick?

I have a 0 too, both gear knob and dash. I think after mid 2003 they all had N.

It's 0 on the gearstick, N on the dash.
I thought it was a general SMG update as it also took the letters SMG off the gear stick housing.

What I don't understand is why yours is different, I though all CSL's were the same. Mine is an early one also.

I was led to believe the early ones had a 0 in neutral and the later ones off the production line had an N.

N is for neutered, less aggressive gear changes;)

N came in after the September production shutdown in 2003. So all M3s pre this were 0, then after this date they were N. Same with the dash display.
