Out of interest I note that these ones change the rear spring location from the lower arm(?) to the damper strut. Do you need to reinforce the rear damper top mount for this or install a rear strut brace?

No need.

incorrect

most companies recommend fitting reinforcement plates and the likes of Turner Motorsport sell these

also after the front strut failure on my own M3 running nitrons I would also recommend running the OEM reinforcement plates on the front struts too

No need the plates for installation. I got the plates installed in my car, but is not strictly necessary to run the car in the streets. ;)

Besides, he's talking about the rears.

i run M sport plates on the front and Z3 reinforcement plates on the rears.

From what ive seen not essential but definitely might save your turrets splitting front and rear, seen both on track day cars

i know, hence i said 'also' about the front

the rear struts are reinforced by a roll cage on mine now so defo plenty strength
