I'm looking to have a square set up for trackdays
Got myself 4 18" rears but was just wondering what size tyres
Are best and if any spacers are required.
I've also got a AP brake set up if that matters at all.

Cheers

Dunlop 03G 265 35 18 seriously good tyre. Will out last cups on track and keep anyone on used slicks honest if they can drive.

Great to arrive and drive. Very good wet grip.

John

265's all round will limit spacer width's unless you're running lots of camber

Shimmy will be along in a bit with some gen...

Is this to use on the CSL?

If so you could go 265 35 18 on the new Nankang soft tread, posted some good times at £600 a set as used on M3 Cup cars:
http://www.tegiwaimports.com/nankang-ns-2r-ns2r-m3-cup-265-35r18-super-soft-80-treadwear.html

Or dunlop 03G, about £1100 ish. The dunlops won't need spacers as they are wide:

I don't use spacers on track, on a normal tyre you could go 5mm-10mm on the rear purely for looks.

Just fitted the 9j wheels all round and the fronts
Look to be sticking past the arch about an inch
I'm worried about rubbing on track tomorrow.

Hi all I've not done a track day , does running on these 18' wheels with spacers etc actually improve car ? To me they look like they trying to run with four club feet, any feedback welcome guys .

In my case, i didn't have a choice. KW front springs were touching the tyres so I had to put 10mm spacers front. And the rears ET were too high so I had to put 20mm spacers there. Personally I think it really improves the handling. I always prefer wider touching point of the tyres and 18" s are a must if you are serious about lap times.

Hi

they slightly rubbed on full lock on the inner arch lining but not on the arches, they have settled in a little now the suspension has sunk back down but they are still a little proud,

killer on track though !!
