CSL Boot - Internal....

Hello chaps....

Could some explain, preferably with pictures what a stock CSL boot should look like.

This one has a boot full of amps screwed to a huge sub.... :banged:

After reading numerous times the boot floor was made of cardboard... I've read the PH interview with the CSL development team who said it was a standard M3 floor.

So.... If anyone can tell me how the floor is constructed and what parts I would need to convert it back to original spec (once I get this crap removed), I will be very grateful. Pics always a bonus :-)

To be honest mate, it's hard to tell exactly what is going on in your photos? I can see a couple of Amps and a Multi-disc changer, better photos might help.

I'm offshore at the moment but when I get home can try and take some decent photos and post them on here since mine hasn't been butchered. There might be someone who has track-prepped their CSL selling the carpets/liners etc.

I'm away right now too... hence the not so great pictures.

To put it simply... there is a huge subwoofer in an closer taking up 70% of the boot space. There are two amps attached to the sub box and a cd changer above it.

I removed the facade that was installed to make it look nice and tidy and to see what I was dealing with (this all came with the car).

Once I pull the sub box and amps out I will be left without any flooring in the boot at it was all removed when the stereo was installed way back when.

Never been in the boot of an E46 3 series, let alone an M3 or CSL, so just trying to work out what the floor is made up of.

Cheers for the link... very useful, though it seems to contain every part of the boot, other than the liner/carpet.

Yes, thats all there is on the boot floor itself.

Be careful if you need the boot carpet:

06 INSULATING MAT 1 51487894702 $34.42

It's not the same anymore, essentially BMW changed the design, so you get a nice rubber mat and a trim bit on top of it (seperate), and the trim doesn't match the rest of the boot trim.

The CSL one is one piece, the revised ones from BMW are two pieces and they are definitely not the same.

I wanted to order a new one for my car, and I sent it back as it was totally different, same part number, completely different trim.

In my original post I linked an interview with the CSL design team who state the boot is "standard M3" with no differences.

Anyone know if this is the case so I can source a good condition used part?
