Rear seat already had some damage, but was made worse by a kiddy seat. Any suggestions on who can repair it?

I am quite surprised about the extent of the damage on the paint.
It seems to me that it is not quite up to the task of people using the rear seats on a daily basis.
Sorry, unfortunately i can't help out with the topic.

I would also like to know this, I have these kinds of scratches on the rear seats and the seat backs and it's basically the only thing wrong with my car now.

I have a couple of marks on the back of the front seats where tyres have been sitting on the way to trackdays, so will look forward to an answer.

This thread keeps popping up from time to time and I'm yet to hear of anyone who's managed to get theirs fixed
Is the problem the paint match ?
Mines not as bad as OP but would like it done

This is something I'd be keen to hear about too, also how to prevent it from happening in the first place. Maybe some sort of plastic protection like laminex, although that might leave a shiny appearance...

No answers here yet. I asked BMW and replecements would cost about £3.5k. It is a shame the price doesn't reflect the quality. I might take them out and go to my local bodyshop, it is basically painted plastic after all. If I do I will report back.

I look forward to hearing MisterCorn. I think a CF cover was offered as a preventative measure a while back now although I am not sure that I want the extra weight :hahaha:.

When I had my subframe repaired by Elms, I asked them if the could repair the cracked rear centre console and the scuffing on the back of one of the seats and they did an extremely good job (and this was before I knew of the difficulties in matching the paint on the back of the seat), so the dealers obviously seem able to do a good job.

Can they give us a paint code so we can get a can made up, as I need to repair the backs of both my seats

You can only but ask :p ;).
Get in touch with this guy.

Google it for his email or pm me for his number.
Have spoken to him ref repairs. Has done a full interior refurb on one for a dealer. Can all be done using oem paint, material, alcantara etc.

I've just removed my rear center console for this exact problem, child seat has caused scuffs/scratches and the sides have cracks.
I've got Bradleys rubber/plastic paint which is a very close match to oem, will be dropping the console, rear seat backs and front seat back off to a painter that I know.
I'l post up some before/after pics when the bits come back.

So my painter is busy for the next few weeks...
Sod that, I decided to tackle it myself.
I've repaired the cracks using fibre glass, stripped the existing rubberised coating, sanded down and blemishes and have coated the console in primer.
I'll get round to painting it this week, The paint is manufactured by Bradleys, colour code - Soft Montana Black N6SW
here's some pictures of the progress so far.

Great job !
I do have the same problem, as everybody . I plan to get it fix by a professionnal. Does somebody knows the OEM BMW paint number ?
Goldysingh, do you have some pictures of final result ?
I will also ask for the same job for the back of front seats...

Or there is always the carbon option ;):

I try to keep it as new as possible. Carbon option is not bad but not in link with the back of the seat.
My car is now near Paris and will be completely refurbished
My rear seats also had some scratches.
I am trying a solution inspired by what they have done with the front seat buckles.
Cheers,
Alex
