42K would be a give away

As these with or without the sales taxes?
It's genuinely interesting to me as:
1. it will be dependent on who's there on the day and who's prepared to fight for it. Could just fall very flat though...
2. It's very similar to my car, (so I am hoping it goes berserk !!)
If it make the lower estimate, it's still north of £50K
See Pooky's number crunching on the matter here.
http://www.cslregister.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13894
So above £50K @ the lower range...

They are just to expensive for me now, just spent a fortune on the m, at the end of the year I might be in the market for a Cayman R

Still got the plate John??
How's the Black M3, that's what you were driving @ Barts 2014.
Funniest thing at the bottom of the ad it says this is good value with " It must be noted that lower mileage cars are changing hands at a shade under the 100k mark" ... Not sure where they got those figures !

Come on people , ideal time to put your price to the CSL market, this is a middle of the road CSL with 60k, nice history, right amount of owners, this car will tell you the true market value as its a middle or the road car, with higher mileage cars also lower mileage cars on the open uk market, don't be shy now:thumbs:

£45k ? May do a tad more but ive lost track on what they are doing
Will be lucky to make the min bid with auction costs factored in.
Especially at the bottom of the ad it says this is good value with " It must be noted that lower mileage cars are changing hands at a shade under the 100k mark" ... Not sure where they got those figures ! £69,900 is a long way from £100,000.

Think they are referring to the 8k mile one on piston heads that is £93k

Why is this car at auction?
What then happens if you buy it and the engines f*cked, where do you stand?

Its the chance you take buying from a auction, but if I bought it I would slap a bmw warranty on it for the first year then take it to as many track days as possible and thrash the living day lights out of it, now that sounds like fun and how CSL ownership was like 4years ago:thumbs:

Yes 1:30, it took about 1 hour to sell 20 cars yesterday so I expect it will be around 2:30pm it actually goes through. Some serious metal sitting in that room!
Look forward to the result

Looked nice but gaps in the service history. Reached £47k including fees which sounds about right to me
At this time of year you would expect things to be tricky to sell especially after the recent price rises

I had a look at the service book too, always serviced correctly within mileage just not in time. Must have been when it was in storage as part of the collection
Had gaps with a few of my low milers and does knock the price down

This car wasn't brilliant before being prepped for the show, clear evidence of plenty of track miles.

Anyone else notice before if it had a Buy It Now price on the website?
http://www.silverstoneauctions.com/2004-bmw-E46-m3-csl
It does now.
£52,470
No it didn't that's a new addition and a little high given the market right now

Took a closer look after the auction. There were a few people looking around it, so it may sell in the next few days.
Had a couple of rust spots on the rear arch and paintwork wasn't mint. Looks like it has been used, which I guess is what it is designed for!
For me it's a £45,000 max car without the perfect history

I also agree with you, this car looked mint!
No evidence of having harsh track use, not even signs of stone chips.
Just because it has AP's doesn't necessarily mean it's a track weapon only

I must admit I haven't seen the car, but I was told that it had 'evidence of heavy track use' by somebody yesterday who happened to be following the auction and was a fan of the CSLs. I guess it could well just be the AP brakes, not many people would fit them unless they were seriously in to track driving. I assume my car has been on the track previously as it has them, I won't change them though as they are great :supz:

That's what 8 hours of detailer preparation does for you the week before the auction.

On closer inspection the car was not mint. Had two rust bubbles on near side rear arch, couple of very small dents, some stonechips on the front, chips in windscreen (albeit small) and front splitters seemed to be damaged or did not fit properly.
Don't get me wrong, wasn't bad, looked like a honest car that as someone says had an 8hr detail. I would say for mileage condition was average once you strip away the polish.
Wonder if it is sold yet.

£41k is that it, if they keep coming down at this rate i could be in one by the end of the year

Haha they arent dropping
A car with gaps in service history, which is tidy but not mint, with very little paperwork, Unknown mechanically with 61k reaches £47k with fees. I think that's bloody expensive. Mine is same miles with much better history, BMW warranty and boot floor done. Must be worth £50k!:supz:

I do like the way the people who want to buy one speculate a price drop....
....and the people who own them speculate the prices rising :hahaha:
If the reserve was lower and it did "sell" for £41k, as others have pointed out, by the time you would have driven it away from the auction, it would have been £47k after all the fees.
If it was a scruffy car, then £47k is pretty strong IMO.
