*Gay Thread Alert*

We moved into our new house almost a year ago and whilst I was over the moon to have a double garage there was something niggling me regarding the CSL's resting place: the huge amount of concrete dust ever present no matter how often I swept it clean due to the concrete/breeze block construction.

So, I decided to spruce the place up by painting the walls and garage floor whilst maximising storage for the CSL, car stuff, bikes, running machine and other assorted bits of shite that I had accumulated!

I used the following:

Sandtex Stabilising Solution & Sandtex Ultra Smooth Masonry Paint for the walls.
Sandtex Stabilising Solution & Johnstone's Garage Floor Paint for the floor.
Kenovo storage tracks to hang the bikes and garden tools.

It ended up taking longer than planned as I work away from home a fair bit, but I am pleased with the results! :smokin:

Lovely garage, far too much non-car related stuff in there though for my liking. When I am in charge I will make it against the law to put more than 5% non-car related stuff in a garage. It drives my wife nuts but I just can't stand it.

Just a warning, hot tyres will most likely pull off the floor paint as its not a two pack system so drive her in when cold.

Don't worry; the eaves storage is full of CSL bits and wheels! My missus already thinks that I'm nuts for spending any money to paint the garage in the first place and would think I've lost the plot if i turfed out her 'gym', lol!

Piece of 203x102 UB for the lintel, ~4.5m lekky roller. Job done.

Having just moved house myself I have been left with a single garage that's not really that much use for anything other than storage.

i had the opportunity to get one for £93k summer 2014. this one thats sitting at porsche centre solihull is £165k. ( has been reduced from £179k- so a total bargain then)

Nosey bstrd :hahaha: but well spotted, the garage is attached to the side of the house so i could in theory drive any car from the drive through the garage and out into the garden . Well that was the theory when I asked the architect. He said yeah no reason why you can't have a roller garage door on the back, 8ft should be enough. During the build process I thought it's gonna be dark in here, why don't I have some bifold doors on here instead, looks a lot nicer and you can see the cars when they are in there under the spot lights. Little did I know was the space the folded doors take!!! They take approx 2 ft off the 8ft making it near impossible to get anything through the gap now. I've half tried the wife's 120 but it is very tight. So anything with flared arches is not gonna go. Shame really cos I did think about building a big wooden shed around the back to double up as another garage, I'll just have to settle for a jcw or a 70's 911 ;). I'm such a dreamer.

We did insulate the garage ceiling with rock wool but in hindsight could've used Celotex but at the time money was tight as it always is! The roller garage door is insulated and pretty well sealed as is the bifold door at the back plus the garage ticks over on a low temp with the rads in there. :smokin:

Some good ideas, may try something similar to mentalnerve's approach. Have 2 pretty much identical garages on either side of the house, sadly there isn't a CSL in the other one.

Looking at rubber / tiled flooring for the garage or simply painted, will need to replace garage door mechanism with something newer and maybe a new garage door at the same time.

Quite a lot of height in the other garage, may allow a lift to be put in to store 2 cars but that will need £££!
