I don't know if i'm crazy but i went to the Ford dealer today and i applied for a deposit about the 2017 Ford GT. They've informed me that the first 10 customers have been selected and the next round of selections around the world will start soon.
Hell yes!! I'm very excited!!

You lucky, lucky boy (if you get one) :).
Is one of my dream cars - spec looks amazing and would want one more than ANY Ferrari, just not sure if over and above a 991 GT3 RS....
Fortunately my finances mean that is not a decision I will have to make unless my numbers come up :bigcry:.

Yes, if i get one. It is a beautiful car and well designed. I've driven the new 991 GT3 RS. Not my cup of coffee. The wheels are extremely big, it is automatic and the dimensions are bigger that it's predecessor. Of course my favourite GT3 RS remains the 997.1, the 3.6 lt. But i wanted something more special.

Thank you very much Alex.
I would give you the RS but it is in Germany and specifically at Porsche Center where it will be under the 3 years big service and then will be up for sale in Stuttgart.

Stuttgart is just 90 minutes from my home
The Ford GT is a very interesting machine and very very nice design.

Really? Well i will visit Germany probably in the end of next month. I will send you a message to go for a ride.
Yes, Ford guys did an amazing job with the new GT. Ok, maybe the engine is not the classic and precious n/a V8 but it works for me!

Well, after a week, i had a call from my dealer to inform me about the GT status. After an an hour of discussion, we went to a room with a question form. I had to answer in some questions about Ford ownership and my personal experience with Ford cars.
He told me that the answers would play big role for the owner selection.
Below there are some of the questions:
1) Do you own a Ford GT: NO
2) Have you ever owned a Ford GT: NO
3) Do you own a Ford RS series model: NO
4) Have you ever owned a Ford RS model: NO
As i can understand, probably i will have to wait until a second hand 2016 Ford GT hit the market!
:banghead:
* The dealer said to me that he is going to communicate with me again.

Helli again!
Well, it's been a while since the last update about the purchase of a 2016 Ford.
According to my dealer, unfortunately i do not have the requirements to acquire one of the 250 2016 Ford GT. However, a good friend of mine who probably will get one (he owns three. One Heritage Edition which was a limited edition made in 2006 and was painted in Gulf colours, one standard model painted in white with blue stripes and a more limited edition GTX1 painted in silver metallic and it was introduced a a roadster version back in 2005) told me that he asked a guy who is involved with the project and the answer was the below:
50 Cars for pure VIPs (Leno's, Seinfeld's and key Ford personnel)
150 Cars for customers who apply and pass the high standards for allocation
50 Cars (max) for high-profile and high-volume dealers
Nonetheless, they offered me the new Mustang 350R in a very good price!

It may be far from the exotic look and charisma of the GT but those 350R's look very impressive for a fast Ford. Assuming of course you aren't trading in the CSL...

Ford sound like they are as hard to buy a car from as Porsche..
I'm trying to put my name down for a new focus rs and keep being told they have a waiting list and i wont get one?
More understandable with a gt tho.
I bought my 1M new, after originally being told that all 1M's had been allocated, so keep asking around is all i can advise..
cheers Jamie

The 350R must be a very different Mustang from those which we are used to. The set up is well designed and the transmission is very sophisticated. I saw the blue demo and i'm not going to lie. It is beautiful BUT if i will have to head for a muscle car, then i'm afraid that will be the new Camaro Z28!
Of course i won't trade the CSL. She's a keeper and garage queen. I can't say the same for my 1M. However i would like to see the M2 but something tells me that 1M is and willl be better than the M2.

Yes, it seems that Ford want to play with the big guys, see Ferrari, Porsche, Pagani etc. At least in exclusivity level. I believe though that this is not a good thing for the brand. The new Focus RS must be a little bit cheaper in comparison with it's opponents in it's class and of course should be produced an a fair amount of units. If Ford makes the same mistake as BMW did with the M3 GTS (few cars and astronomical price for what it is) then i don't know if the brand's feature in this category will stay in a healthy level.
I also spoke with a friend who used to work in Prodrive and he mentioned to me that i shouldn't expect a used one to be cheaper than a new one (talking about the new GT).
Maybe i should move without a second thought to a Porsche Cayman GT4 with some Sharkwerks treatment!

Good luck getting a Cayman GT4 unless you are willing to pay well over the odds.
I really don't know what car companies are playing at at the moment, they seem to be deliberately restricting supply to keep the cars 'exclusive', which as far as I can see causes resentment amongst real customers whilst those who don't really want one buy one and punt it on for £20k or more profit with 10 miles on the clock.
The next logical step is surely for them to bring out a new model and not sell any of them at all, at least that way the speculators won't get a look in.
Years ago when a 'special' model was done, such as for homologation, if supply outstripped demand they just made more of them, it hasn't hurt the decent cars in the long run. I believe this applied to the 911 2.7 RS and the Ferrari F40 amongst others.

You have a point i can say. Porsche and Ferrari always charge more for less, like the GT3 RSs and 430 Scuderia and 458 Speciale. The bad thing is that we are not leaving back in the good days, the golden era that i use to say. I've found a really nice example of a Cayman GT4, in blue. It is equipped with all the comforts but it does not include the optional Clubsport package. I wait for the CS package price to have a full view.
The Porsche 2.7 RS together with the Ferrari F40 are incredible cars. They did it well then. The Homologation part is something delicate that it has to be special and not just for marketing reasons.
Most of the companies have lost it and did it all for profit. I don't find fair and good for the future clients and the market.
