I was thinking of an early crossing so I can make the registration check in tuesday pm. Last email sent out stated 1400-1630 Hrs registration on Tuesday 29th,
I've been told it saves a bit of time doing this before Day 1.

From the DN website - these are the times
Tuesday 29th September 2015
Venue - ROTEK RACING, 1-3 Gottlieb Daimler Strasse, Meuspath, Germany
Registration, all drivers and all passengers
17.00 - 18.30 - Registration.
18.30 - 19.00 - Compulsory Drivers briefing
My 12.20 train should arrive at 1355 in Calais, so I'm hoping to arrive for the start of the briefing at 1830 - 4.5 hours to the Ring should be doable from Calais :)
There is a briefing at 0830 on Wednesday morning if you don't make Tuesday's - this will be on site in the Ring Taxi office - it would mean that you miss the sighting laps which are from 0800 to 0900 - which doesn't bother me to be honest. 2 full days so plenty of time to acclimatise and get on it - fingers crossed for good weather :)

If you booked early enough you will be allocated a pass for the main car park. If not it will be over the road.
I think the main problem with the parking is that folk try and keep their spaces with tool boxes, wheels etc etc. It can get a bit manic.

I doubt there will be a problem with the parking. There wasn't any problem at DN12 - just the odd knobbers with a full pit crew and airjacks who were, predictably, not that useful on track.
I am taking an early train and the weather looks set to be fabulous, so cannot wait. I'll be in a black GTR and my mates will be in a black GTR and silver M3, so any of you CSL boys, please feel free to come and say hello - not least so you can brag about how much more your cars are worth since I sold mine.

Boys, sorry to have missed meeting you all. I ended up only being able to stay for the Wednesday due to work commitments - left the Blaue Ecke at 6am on Thursday, arrived in my office near Liverpool St at 1pm. Long slog.
Glad to hear everyone had a good time and got some decent laps in. Terry, I saw your car out there and think I may even have it on video at some point. A fair few 991s in attendance and I also have a nice clip of the red Getspeed 991 RS having a nice bit of unexpected drifting followed by some brown trousers slow driving.
The GTR was pretty epic, only let down by having MPSS (better for the road, not fantastic on track). My best lap was a 7.57 and I'll post the video soon. I know the car has a lot more to give too. I keep pussying out at Flugplatz (probably flying GTRs on the brain) and I still dare not go flat at Bergwerk.
I hear Thursday morning was red-flag heaven, so glad we all drove our cars home ok.

About 90 minutes red flag in the morning followed by 30 minutes in the afternoon.
The big delay was a Clio Sport undertaking followed by synchronised barrier trashing. Bet his barrier Bill was epic.
Needless to say the Clio was toast.

Here's a couple of laps from DN13. I gave my mate Dan in his E46 M3 a 20-second head start and, as you can see, he gave me a good run for my money considering the power difference. Conditions were amazing. My tyres (MPSS) were a big hindrance and I reckon the car would have been significantly quicker on the standard Dunlops.

One day was enough for me.
Brett had the car on Thursday and did well against some awesome cars.
The Nissan GTR's were the standout car for me.
Some of them had biblical power attached to some very brave drivers.
Despite some esteemed car park company cesil pulled plenty of attention.
Not bad for a 12 year old coupe with room for your full set of Wilson's!!;)

You are right about biblical power - my car runs around 640/620 and demolishes most things in a straight line. I am not sure that you need to be so brave, though. Stick the car in RRR mode, especially with the Litchfield race map, and the only limiting factor is your disbelief. The computer intervenes a lot, especially when you are running road tyres as I was. As you can see from the video, we do a 7.57 on road tyres, no cage, etc and it wasn't that strenuous.
HOWEVER...
In terms of fun around the Ring, my old CSL beats my GTR hands down.

I don't know him personally, but they guy with the Golf that looks like it's held together by sticky tape is there at most DN events. Somewhat of a Ring veteran. The car looks a little dubious in places but, as stated, he's proper quick in it. Always fun to see him come up behind very expensive cars and then harry them until they let him past.

Nige is a really nice guy - the Golf has had some serious hours put into it - apparently 300+bhp and sub 1000kg. I follow him for a while in my video above - then he lets me past but stays with me for the whole lap - he must have done 1000's of laps - he's always there when I'm there, lol :)

Nige took me for a lap in that golf back in 2010 (my first trip). Really nice guy.
That golfs been developed over the years into a real weapon.
Anyway, am definitely going next year. Went twice over the last 12 months in the CSL. Managed a total of 1 lap due to bad weather!

So 991 is a lot easier than the old 996 GT3 where you have to work it or just conditions and track knowledge improvement???
Pip
A bit of both - there is no doubt the 991 is a fair bit faster, but it was my 1st time on track in this car and it has no buckets/ harnesses. My 996 in comparison was a full on track focused car and I knew it inside out after 5.5 yrs.
Mods planned for the 991 to make more track focused :)

Terry, from experience that's going to be expensive!
Can you actually improve the perfect car???
