Hi everyone, I'm tempted to buy a scorpion back box, I really do love the way the tailpipes look, alot of people say the tailpipes are about an inch short with the csl diffuser. Is it worth having somebody cutting them off and extending them? I could just go and buy a ss, but I don't think you'll get much if any power gains with either, it's just for weight reasons, that's why I can't justify paying 5 times as much. What are your general thoughts, are we all just brand snobs sometimes?

Had mine on about 6yrs now and no complaints from me.
the tailpipes are just shy of the edge but not massively short.

Not quite sure what you mean by that :smt017 and there's no brand snobbery from me as I like both Scorpion & Super Sprint in equal measures. I just happen to get a cracking deal on my New SS Race light weight at the time :smokin: only a few £££ more then the Scorpion that Paul (rstoughy) has which I was also considering... and the light weight nature was my main priority as I don't believe they make any BHP gains on their own what so ever.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm going to rider one and see how it goes. Iv got a ss non res centre section going on too. Should make thing a bit more noisy. What I meant by the brand snobbery was, and I'm guilty of it too, it that some people would see certain brands on a car like a bmw a no no. So many people have told me, I wouldn't put a scorpion on it if I was you. Stick to Miltek or ss. But I see it as for the money, your getting a good quality item.

stick with the standard box and swap the tail pipes for a slightly bigger diameter, I bought some really nice ones from pistonheads / eaby for £150 and they give the look of an uprated box with out messing with what I consider a fantastic standard sound,
I never liked the standard piped they look like pea shooter

Yes, they seem to call them, euro tips. Iv bought them but haven't fitted them. They are sitting in the garage eating dust. Change of back box is more for weight saving for me. And those tips seem to be pretty heavy too. I'm a bit over fussy. I know it's sad but, hey ho!

That's weird, they seem to open when I click on the link. I must be doing something wrong.
