Looks nice but think the F80 series are a little on the large size
A M2 GTS would be great

Not my cup of tea.
Thank God it doesn't have a 'CSL' badge!

I am actually quite surprised that bmw doesn't abuse the csl moniker for marketing purposes
The only uniqe things about the m4 gts are the oled taillights and the water injection. I mean the taillights look cool but who cares about some lights on a sportscar.. they should have invested the resources else where in my opinion.

Sorry BMW hardly a terminator, despite the soundtrack. Best left as a concept.

+1 ;) I'd like to think they are keeping the "CSL" badge for something very special :smt055

I know these cars are faster and far more advanced, but BMW just don't seem to get the point, the M3csl is just so good,I think they shot themselves in the foot 12 years ago and it will take some beating now, unless they throw caution to the wind ;)

Totally agree. Maybe they are keeping it for something which will be a coupe, with the 'M3' badge in the back and will be more beautiful and without a 'M4' badge in the back.
God, how much i hate the M4. BMW's biggest failure after the X1 and X3
This could possibly qualify :smokin:
Don't like it either! They should consider changing some things for better proportions on the car.
Top Gear mag on the new Car mentions the
2003: BMW M3 CSL
This, the E46 generation M3 – and the third generation to wear the M3 badge – came as standard with a 3.2-litre engine producing 343bhp, and could sprint from 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds. All nice and lovely.
But in 2003, BMW decided to resurrect the ‘CSL’ nameplate to make it nicer and lovelier. Yep, the E46 M3 CSL is one of the greats, with more power from that 3.2-litre straight-six (360bhp), and many lightweight body panels to strip the fat.
The roof, centre console and door panels were all constructed using CFRP, it had a lighter, thinner rear window, and the air-con and stereo were junked.
As a result, BMW’s test runs at the Nürburgring returned a time of 7m 50s. All 1,383 CSLs were sold within a space of months. Find one, drive it once, and then store it for all time in a hermetically sealed box.

I could be very wrong here but I would guess if we were given the chance to own an M4 GTS we would all jump at the chance. I'm sure it's a totally awesome machine and would make us all drool. We slate it because we are so protective of the CSL and rightly so but I would love to try it out.

it's going to cost £100k+ so entirely different market i say.
of course we would all jump in to buy at 65k.
it's like would i buy an e90 GTS at 65k.. ? hell yes. at 100k, it would still be an ok buy with a clubsport package, ceramics, chassis enhancements, upgraded adjustable coilovers and better drivetrain excitement and package. IE something to make a 991 GT3 owner take note. Coupled with low numbers, could get inetresting.
BUT, not holding my breath.
CSL still a bargain. and just quick enough imv to keep 996/997 GT3 honest on track.

I personally like it (excluding the orange bits).
If it has 500PS and 1400kg, would definitely be interested.
And I hope they make a lot of them so as it's not a very limited edition, ultra expensive collector's item.

I like the look of the concept cal in the bright yellow/green colour. It it did go into production it sounds like it is far too wide. Had a ride round a track in the new M4. Did not make me want one.
Something the size of the 2 series without sat nav, electric seats and lightened is my choice. Until then sticking with cesil. Nearly 10 years & still :smt055

I am not saying i wont keep the CSL but the reality is things evolved and unfortunately bmw is not making a track oriented hardcore edition car.
I personally want a track oriented bmw as i cannot catch the 991 gt3s and 458s in the straights.
So please bmw make it proper and make many of them !
Edit: I believe all of us we would agree that the M3 GTS would be a proper machine if it was 150kg lighter and more fast at the track.
But the E92 M3 in stock format is a tank and BMW did not try that hard.
And I guess I belong to a minority that wants to own a BMW and not a Porsche, Ferrari etc.
sorry but I think its horrid.

Sadly it looks like it will be well under 500PS and with only a few weight saving measures over the standard 1595kg weight of the normal car, I can't see it being near 1500kg, let alone 1400kg :(.

Missed opportunity - 1420, to match the 991 RS would have been awesome.

so its basically just another "show" car like the past gts. With fancy orange stuff. im sure the built in roll cage will be acid orange too. xD

how about 450hp and 1450kg? That would be realistic and certainly ballistic enough. if priced at 65k (i.e. Gt4 pricing), I would be a buyer.

At least the last GTS model was significantly lighter (136kg) than the normal car with it's stripped out interior, light-weight titanium Akraprovic exhaust and fully adjustable KW suspension, plus it had a good power and torque increase from the 4.4 litre engine :).
The current car sounds like it is going to be more like a sales gimmick than a bonafide GT3 contender :(.
