Not a nice ending. Looked like a bump unsettled the car.

Hope he is ok

Don't like to judge from the armchair but would have to agree with trawler....Kept the gas on after the car got a little out of shape....fine in your EP3 but not so good in Germany's finest.

Hope the driver is well.

Car is toast.

Great to see the car being used like it was meant to be. Hope he is well.

Also i think its rather brave that he uploaded the video of him crashing.

Looks like a CSL for off-road use only... cars should be RHD in Japan.

is that footage speeded up?

He must have had 1 wheel on the grass for that to happen and throttle wide open. This means that power cannot be applied properly and u spin.

Doing that on a circuit vs doing the same in a hill climb means a different result. He must be aggressive from before the apex. I simply wouldn't have the balls to drive like that on a hill climb

wonder if i can buy a spare CSL engine........

Not always ;) Japanese buyers of New German / Italian cars are always offered the choice of RHD or LHD at the dealer. The rarer & the more exotic the car, the more likely it'll be LHD (especially if it was originally designed to be LHD) as all German / Italian cars have been.
IIRC most Japanese CSLs are LHD ( Swiss / German imports) which carries extra CUDOS in Japan :smokin: although I'm not sure how many of Japanese ordered from new CSLs were LHD or RHD.

I lived in Japan for 18 years . I can confirm that most of the imported Mercs and BMW were LHD .

Yes I seem to remember reading or hearing that LHD simply added to the exotic nature of a German car and was seen as a bit of a status symbol.

That's 100% correct . Funnily enough I was there in December and saw 1 LHD CSL in Tokyo.

 I'm yet to spot a CSL in Tokyo / Japan after many years of trying ;)
I'll have another chance later on this year
