So the new cup 2 are 2 seconds faster over a 2 min lap than the cup+.

But cup+ on dry track are poor. Me and Adem tried them back to back at Donny.

I am thinking of trying the new cup2 on the track car square set up
265 35 18 but don't think they will cut it.

Been using slicks but getting the rims refurb and want the best road legal tyre and dry grip on track.

Either that or dunlop 03g are a option.

Has anyone put the cup2 through there paces

You can tell us ;).

In the meantime, with the normal Cups being at such a low price (presumably to out the last of them), why switch if you're sure they are better :p ;)?

Tyreleader do not stock 265 35 18 in the old cups, CUP2's are less than £600

Based on many review I heard from respected drivers, everybody puts Cup before CUP2. they say CUp2 is a great all weather semi-slick but for full dry conditions Cup is said to better than cup2.

Alhough they all also speak ver very highly of Trofeo R, even better than Cup.

I've a set of Cup 2's just arrive, 265 square setup.

Never experienced any other cups but tried many tyres over the years including full slicks.

Not on track till next month mind.

all very good questions............if they are slower, its gonna make 2m49 hard to beat at Spa

How much, on a trackday, does laptime matter vs price, tyre life, how they feel and wet performance?

If Cups 2s are a smidge slower but last longer and have much better wet grip then they'd get my vote. Unless they were more expensive. Then I'd just get whatever is the cheapest.

For me, lap times are very important as I keep going to the same track, Istanbul Park, if I can't improve my times it is a waste of money to attend.

Unless of course I go to ring where being there, atmosphere, friends and soft dogfights are more than enough.

I had opened another thread where it was explained that the cup2 is faster than the original cup.

Getting a bit OT, but do cup 2s come into contention for general fast road use, or are Super Sports still a better all rounder (taking wet grip, and life into consideration)?

Billy, sam Tate put a worrying picture up of the Dunlop sidewalls bulging, other than that I have heard nothing but good things about them. Where are you finding prices for them?
