Well it's time to say bye to you all after nearly 3 years in the CSL.
As you may have picked up from an earlier thread, DiamondGeezer has just bought my car :big cry:
I know some of you keep track of movements, so it was previously Andyk's car, then went to a non-member for a few years before I bought it. Sadly he didn't keep it as pristine as Andy did, and I didn't rise to the challenge of restoring it to its former glory. Hopefully DiamondGeezer will...
I have just driven 250 miles home in its replacement - an RS4 Cabriolet :gayfight: Let the abuse begin, but I have always liked the look of them! Not sure it will fill the hole left by the CSL though.
On a serious note, there's usually a lot of talk on here about possible alternatives to the CSL, but these are generally more expensive. What do people look for in the £20-£30k bracket?
I'm already thinking forwards to the next one and like the idea of trying the C63 after the Audi.
Anyone else done anything similar?
Anyway will keep checking in from time to time.
Cheers
Jon
Enjoy the good weather in it . Heatwave on the way

As I've already said on the 'only one for sale' thread a massive thank you to Jon for being so accomadating during the sale of his car he went out of his way on more than one occasion
The works already started and it's at Bartletts having stage one of a fairly long list of things sorted and I hope to have it all ready in 6 weeks (best laid plans and all that ;) )
And Jon if you ever want a job selling diamonds you come and see me
I've bought houses with less bargaining !!!
Only joking I wouldn't hesitate to buy from you again but I doubt it'll be any time soon as your driving that hairdressers car now
I know it's the done thing to post up pics but if anyone wants to see the car in 6 weeks time now you can skip to Andyk's albums to have a look (wishful thinking)
Thanks again Jon and good luck with the new car

Welcome Diamondgeezer
Good to read you've left the car in the hands of the jedi master.
Mine's been @ Bart's for 5 weeks now receiving some TLC from Gareth.
It'll be ready on the 4th July!!!! Not long now...it's been like a bereavement having a space in the garage for so long.

The biggest thing is the boot floor which was picked up at the initial inspection at Bartlett's
Apart from a few small jobs underneath like corroded brake lines and a couple of leaking pipes the rest is cosmetic ie front wings starting to rust aswell as the sills and bottom of the doors
This is really only surface rust but I'm sure the longer its left it ain't going to get any better
Wheels will be sent to lepsons and fitted with a set of cups and I'm thinking of using KDS next door for the bodywork so if anyone has any feedback about them I'd appreciate it
And finally the inside needs a steering wheel refurb along with the rear view mirror and the plastic on the rear seats needs some attention where a baby seat has been fitted again if anyone has had this repair done and can point me in the right direction

Yeah really pleased I used them for the inspection and the subsequent work as Gareth really seems to know his stuff
I saw your car there a couple of weeks back when the inspection was being done
I found the track set up a bit much for road use when he let me take it for a blast
and he said he should be able to get the small dent out before you collect it :finga:

Gareth is THE CSL Tech. Elms management definitely fooked up letting him go.
Massive bonus for all of us.

I'm getting my boot floor done at simpsons at some point. There is a small crack that they think will be contained by the massive cage but i'm not taking any chances. I don't understand the bmw boot floor repairs that don't use plates to reinforce the subframe, it's bound to come apart again at some point.
also radio blank to be put in and steering wheel trim +dash trim re-painted.

Having a full cage fitted Khooni?
Had all my cage work done @ Simpson's . Julian and Anthony are a formidable team.

full cage already done mate.. I have the ex-thorney CSL cup car chassis remember?
It's just that there is a little crack (1 inch) on the boot floor that Anthony suggested may have been there originally but since it didn't spread, he didn't advise me to spent £ on boot floor reinforcement plates. I have been monitoring it for the past year and it's been holding steady...... but i still want peace of mind. Part of me thinksa that eventually it will need doing so I'll prolly get it over with later in the year.
This car has been a money pit for me. I have spent money on cosmetics/suspension and brakes. looks like i'll need new corner lights as well.:bigcry: ... I have half a mind to re-spray it in some lairy colour.
