And why....still kicking tyres but my shortlist is:
R8 V8
Cayman R pdk
(New) Cayman S pdk
(High mile) CLK black
GTR
997 turbo
1M
New shape rs4 avant
M5
997 GTS
991 c2
This is +1 to CSL
Only 2 of us, weekender car. Prob need flappy, so 1m is prob off list. GT pork off the list due to silly prices. Anything else I missed ?

Had a Pax ride in the new RS3
Wicked acceleration. Spec had the sports exhaust and suspension.
Doesn't really warrant being on your A list but great car none the less.

As your Mrs knows only too well, the only way is BLACK
LP560 if you only use it weekends. 08 ones should be priced decently.
GTR if you use it daily.
Was going to suggest 458, but they seem kind of steep in the UK. Used 2010's in my neck of woods are falling like rats off a sinking ship. Ok slight exaggeration, but here supply is definitely way more than demand in the used market.

Two of you & weekend car then I would go for a R8 Spyder, or Boxster Spyder.

Lam and 458 too rich for me I think. 430 look ok, but I'm not buying into F and GT inflation. Still think folks (unless high end/low vol) are gonna get bum raped on the regular stuff.

Neither of us are hairdressers, but I expected nothing less from you :gayfight:

Takes a real man to drive a rag top. When we had the Caterham we had to pick the tar covered stones & flies out of our clothes.
Mrs fancies a R8 Spyder for a bit of European touring.

Another vote for a 997 Turbo here. My dad has a Gen 1 that he bought new, now with 92k miles on it. Stills puts a smile on his face every day! Lovely car.

Can you stretch to the 991 Carrera 2S (the cheapest I have found is just over £50k) for one with sub 30k miles? The 385bhp PDK version is actually faster around the Nordscliefe than both the 997 Turbo and 997 GT3 Mk II and less than 5s slower than the 997 GT3 RS Mk II, which shows what a great car it is :supz:.
For reference it does a 7.37.9, so is even faster than our legendary CSLs.

R8 V8 gets my vote.
Or the 997 GTS.
Or the 991 Carrera 2S Mike talks of!
Or just drive all of them on your list and see which one you prefer :smt023

The main reason I suggested these was that it seems they tend to hold value quite well. If you get the GTR from Litchfield your GTR tax should be minimal. Just dun go crazy on the mods.
997 turbo, good cruise and classy vehicle, rs nah... Hey what about those r8 v10 pluses with that lovely s tronic transmission?
Dun forget to value is depreciation, running costs etc and you can get an idea of total ownership cost.

997 GTS - great combination of price/performance and reasonable residuals although perhaps a little bland if you're after something more exciting?
997 Turbo values becoming very attractive but many of them around.
CLK black sounds cool :smokin:

I would go for the R8 Spyder as it is a convertible and so a fair bit different to the CSL, or a 997 turbo as they are different by being much quicker in a straight line. Not a 997 turbo convertible though, unless of course you are gay, in which case you can kill two birds with one stone.

What about a Bently GT? Better to cruise around in than you would imagine.

The 997 GTS sounds really good, a bargain and a nice way to invest in something not so rare but quite special!

There's only two of you, weekender car, not used much and not taken on track? Gallardo all the way, in BLACK. No contest. After that, 997 GTS (although you'd regret not saving up and spanking into a GT3, given the appreciation).
I have a stage 4 GTR and it's great as a road car but has zero class. It also manages almost 6mpg at the Ring.
I miss my CSL.
