Hello,

As you all know, the Carbon roof of the CSL isn't available anymore at BMW. So when you have some stone chips or stains in the carbon roof, theres a problem.

We've had the same problem with our own CSL, so we experimented with it to repair it. (in our Body/sprayshop) By using special Carbon repair filler/primer/paint.

The result was amazing!

We are located in the Netherlands in the neighborhood of Utrecht. We want to help other CSL/M3/BMW Enthousiasts from Holland, Belgium or Germany to fix their Carbon roof. Because its one of the nicest features on the CSL and its a pitty when it brings your whole M3 down.

It is not my intention to advertise here, but to help people with the same problem.

Enjoy the pictures!

Greetings,
Rick van Duin

That 2nd picture is scary...Very impressive.

The original paint out of the factory didn't stick to the surface, we used compressed air to blow everything off. We are official repairing point of BMW, so we repair allot of bmw's, and this isn't very common. The normal quality standard of BMW paint is very high, so we didn't expect this to fall off that quick.

That looks great.
I have a pretty big blemish on my roof and have been holding off for a replacement.
Reason is that I don't really trust anyone to give a "factory finish" if they rub it back and re lacquer.

That finish you have done there looks superb :smokin:
Don't fancy a trip to Scotland do you?? lol :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:

If you get the ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holand it's only a 40 mile drive the other side!

Hi Rick and welcome to the land of all things CSL

As you're Facebook page would suggest that you're high end painters, what is your experience with the seat backs and other interior trim that has the plasticised paint finish? This is a question that is continually being asked on the 'Register'

PS. Nice '02 Turbo' peeping into the shot on Pic. 6 :supz:

ah yes! the black rubberised finish on the seat backs, rear centre console and rear seats. We need someone who can do a decent job of that.

Neil and Chappers, I will dive into that problem, can you send me pictures of what problems you mean. I shall look at our CSL tonight.

The turbo is also in our collection like the e92 m3 on the right. We have another e92 m3 for trackdays and my father drives a m4 daily, I am restoring a e30 m3 myself. (10 year planning:whistle:)

Rick there are numerous threads regarding this:
http://www.cslregister.com/forum/search.php?searchid=681507

Primarily it's the back of the front seats, scuffs from taking passengers/putting objects on the back seats etc.

The rear seats, where they fold to the rear console resulting in scuffs to seat cheeks, scuffs from the seat belts and scuffs to the console.

Basically it's all areas covered in the rubberised/plastidip type paint, that members have previously expressed concerns about in the numerous referred to above.

No E21? - No collection can be complete without one! ;)

Stunning :smokin:

And agree that Holland isn't very far and the Hull Ferry crossing can be quite entertaining
