Engine finally turned up after 21 months of waiting. Then elms gave me a full report of everything the car needed to make it mechanically mint, then spent the last month getting all work carried out, suspension, springs, bushes, tie rod arms, steering gaiters, handbrake shoes, new pads, new discs, alternator, power steering pump, new kick plates, new side grills with badges, new bonnet and boot badges. I've spent plenty of hours in those months being gay and cleaned literally everything on this car. HAd calipers off, exhaust off, engine bay couldn't be cleaner.

It's on 45k miles and with the e46 m3 track car making good progress was going to put it for sale asap but after using it for the last couple of days not sure if I can.

I think I'll stick some new cups on it and put it away.

Cars not clean as been using it in the rain.

It doesn't take much driving to realise it would be hard to part with, particularly when you have just had all the work done. Enjoy it.
Realistically what would yoh get as a replacement?

Looking good Billy  I've been a bit :gayfight: in the past few months as well getting mine back to OEM.
We need to get both of our Cecils together for another mini Photoshoot at some stage ;) before one of us does the unthinkable and sells up :bigcry:

Wow. That's ridiculous. Would have made them pay for a stroker motor but I know you CSL owners don't like that kinda stuff lol

Think positive Billy.

Mine lit up the cog after last winters sleepover

Replaced the salmon relay and all's well.

You're going to experience a few teething issues as a result of the 2 year lay off.

Cups on and store it, like you said.

PS Had a sneak round the new RS3 today. Audi really have struck gold.....

700 units sold already in the UK and the car's not even available yet!!!

I knew it was going to happen.

Marks right. Get a gearbox and smg pump then I've got a new motor.

Elms will love seeing me first thing Monday morning.

well im not sure you can blame bmw, its been sitting at Billys for a year, just another warranty claim to be sorted

So cars not been driven for 21 months and stored in warm garage.

Makes you think if you buy a low mileage car the chances are if you drive it it's really going to hurt your pocket.

I did tell elms this would happen straight away anyhow.

some things are bound to be age related rather than mileage, especially after initial use.

Looks that way :banghead: although they must have had quite a waiting list to satisfy & supply + I suspect some owners must have bought a spare set after hearing about your epic wait ;)
