Been looking to buy a Porsche to add to the CSL.
Fancy a 911 that is likely to appreciate to justify the purchase. Any thoughts of what hasn't gone mental yet?
Thinking 964 3.3 Turbo.
What do you reckon?

Seen a nice 3.3 Turbo for £50k with 100k on clock. The 3.6 really have gone mental
Owned a 3.3 and a 3.6 ... Both have gone further than I could have imagined .
I think both over priced now to be honest would look elsewhere for gains .
XJS , manual 997 Turbo would be a good bet .

That 964 Turbo "Bargain" boat (if you could have ever call it that) has sailed long ago Matt :bigcry:
If you want good returns on your £££ with some fun, a late (2003 on) Pork 996 Turbo (preferably with the factory X50 pack) is where the investment is at :smokin:
Last of the 997 manual Metzger engined Turbos will be the best investment I think

I can see why manuals will be worth a decent amount, but what's so special about the metzger engine??
It must be manual and so therefore last cars are late 2009 .
Metzger engine last of the racing engines check out the Internet and also have been some good Porsche magazines commenting on it .

The Metzger engine in the 996 and 997 turbo and I think in the gt3 in N/A forum was considered built proof and didn't suffer the same issues that the engines in the carreras are experiencing ie bore scoring and ims bearing problems. I'd say this is another reason why values are climbing for these models

What is the engine in the new GT4?
Do we think that will be an appreciating model?

It seems with porsche any model with gt or rs in the name is a safe bet. I believe with the cayman gt4 it could be very difficult to get one . The last model Cayman r looks good value at the moment plenty of choice at the 40k mark and most seem to be in the dealer network so will be offered with 2 year warranty. these cars values are only gona go one way .

The GT4 sold out long ago. The GT4RS may still be available to order or the GT4.2
Its a basic careers engine. The Mezger was only available in 996/997 GT/Turbo models. And as mentioned manual gearboxes.
As mentioned the 6.2 TT X50 would be a good bet.
