I intend to get a full detail and paint correction done in the next month or two but my front bumper and bonnet look worse for wear with the usual dreaded chip marks. :banghead:

Is it worth getting a front respray done before i plan doing the detail or does it not really make any difference if i get it done afterwards? :smt017

Cheers - Rob :-D

mine needs a front spray but pointless unless you are selling or going to clear wrap it after

one day at Donny and it will look like swiss cheese again

if your gonna track it just get the detail done

Hmmm..... me too.

My front bumper is in need of doing, but is it worth it when ring/spa/croft are already booked for this year?

Just looks shite as the rest of the paintwork is in pretty good order.

I know ... hate cleaning the front :hahaha: ... and agree , unless your sticking a film on , then it will be the same after a few proper days out ... its just that wanting it to look like new thing ..... :banghead:

Exactly! I have Castle Combe/Ring/Spa/Ring booked already with at least another Ring and UK trackday planned in addition... Looks like i need to respray/film/detail. £££'s :119:

Or as Shimmy says just get a detail and accept that the front looks a bit naff - to my perfectionist eyes at least! :hahaha:

And I kind of think , that it looks like youve used it as it was intended anyway , rather than wrap it in cotton wool , and look at it :blalalala:

I think if you are going to track the car, you wil never keep it looking good, unless you get a ventureshield (or similar).

I suppose we will have to live with that 'used' look, or the showroom look.

I had my M3 bumper resprayed, and one ring trip later it looked worse than it did before it was painted :banghead:

Ive just had my bumper resprayed, and I think I'll need to get some kinda wrap to keep it right.

Having said that, I was never close enough to anyone on track cos Im shite :hahaha:

I'm having mine detailed this Friday but had the same question running through my mind. I decided on detail/paint correction now so I can keep on top of the cleaning through this year, then sort chips/front end re-spray at the end of this year and then Ventureshield after. Also, paint chips on mine aren't bad enough to have sorted yet.

The amount of track action yours gets i reckon you should just get it detailed and wait until the bumpers is in a real bad way.

Thats what i'm going to do.

I think i might put off my frontend respray until after the RIng trip in May.

Still looking at getting the wheels paint and refurbed though is £90 a corner about right? Or is it taking the pi$$?

Looking at same colour as the car or a really dark grey

Sounds about right mate - i had my set fully stripped and refurbed last year for £350.

Personally i would go dark grey on a SB CSL... ;)

Cheers Glen,

Question is do i want the wheels to be a slower colour than the rest of the car

Might do a photoshop thingy later
