What's the load rating on these 285 section CUPs Mike ? and how does it compare to the recommended E92 figures ?
From the pic it appears the E92 M3 is leaning on these CUPs a tad more than the CSL would despite the recent diet.
FYI Track temperatures for Mich. CUPs should be around 26 (psi) cold.

Will find out the load rating :). Yep, told him the same thing - he started at 28psi cold, so wasn't sure if it needed more camber or if the 2 psi would make that much difference.

Forgot to say that these are the 3-way Clubsports designed and fitted to the GTS :). Started off with everything set mid-way (as per KW recommendations), but car was a bit skittish over any bumps / curbs. In the end it felt more settled with the low speed compression at fully hard out of the 6 settings, and the high speed set to 5 clicks up from softest (of 15) and rebound was left at the mid-way setting of 9 (of 18 ).

Looks ok. Maybe slightly to high pressure. Cold pick up of rubber typical this time of year.

What are your exact concerns Mike?

The camera doesn't pick it up very well, but the outside edge of the tyre is blue, looking like it has been working harder than the rest of the tyre. We will be doing some tyre temp measuring (outside, middle and inside) to see if any area of the tyre is working harder, but was just wondering if anyone had seen similar and resolved it by a) adjusting camber further b) changing pressures c) Something else?

However, it could just be that the rubber picked up on the cool down lap has made it look worse than it is.....

I ran mine at -3.2 and seemed to get even wear up the front.

Depending on the day sometimes they worked better at 30psi hot.

I always left the house with them on about 25/26 psi.

The rubber pick up might make it look worse than it is.

285's all round, I bet the turn in is great

Looking at the tread, there's very little been taken off the tread edges and no blistering, they're sticky tyres but I couldn't tell you why the rubber pick up seems to be on the middle and nowhere else, perhaps you weren't cornering as hard on the in-lap and those parts didn't get as much contact with the ground?

I take it the car felt ok? 285 all round sounds mad though.

The car is blisteringly fast for what it is, especially with it being DCT and the 18s gear it down a little as well. It is getting a proper plated diff (courtesy of Floren) and the same aero appendages as the GTS and then it will be a proper weapon. It's not my car, but a friends. I have yet to go up against it, but I am getting concerned as it has 15bhp per tonne more than the CSL now with both drivers in the car. It goes past normal E92s like they have the handbrake on LOL.

I'm beginning to think that there is nothing to worry about and it is just the pick up from the track on the cool down lap.

Going to play around with the suspension at the next evening session at Snet on Wed 14th May - I may take the CSL along if there is space to see how much more legs it now has :). The power is definitely there, just not sure it is as well balanced as the CSL and it still feels like it lacks the delicacy of our cars, but boy is it brutal and the gear-change speed means the acceleration is just savagely relentless.

What sort of speed can it go round coram at or Hamilton?

Sounds like a beast.

I'll be doing snetterton again soon in the m3.

Corner speed will be no better unless it has slicks and aero, it will mostly be in bhp to a tricked up e46

All done to laptomes Mike, what are they?

The owner is still learning the car, but was doing a consistent 2.20 lap after lap in traffic :).

As Shimmy says without aero and slicks, it is slower than his Fiesta race car (with slicks) round Coram, which can do 90mph (but only does 2.31s, as it only has 118bhp).

The suspension needs further dialing in still, as it isn't quite right at the moment.

Without tyre temp data and matching tyre pressure then you can't tell anything from just looking at the tyre unless it's obviously fucked.

The hot pressure recommendations are a guide, only way to truly know is to compare gps lap data with tyre temps, pressures and cambers if you're going to get that level of detail.

Sounds like you're going to get the tyre temps and it's easy enough to do, just make sure you get the tyre pressure at the same time.
