Just had my steering wheel re-trimmed and the plastics painted and figured I'd share the results.

Re-trim was done by Transcal and seems top notch to me. The stitching is fantastic.

I had my local painter do the trims in Sebring Grey. He did a 60/40 matt/clear mix on the top coat and it seems to match up well with the original trim in the car. All in all I'm well happy.

Looks great, did Transcal supply the alcantara? Looking to get mine done.

Yes Transcal provided the material though it's not Alcantara, Alcantara is a brand name, they use Technosuede. It looks and feels the same though so don't be put off.

Judging by your pics I wouldn't be up off. Sorry but more questions, how long did they take, how much (if you don't mind?) and did you get a spare wheel or just do without the car for a while. I've had a look on eBay to get a spare while I sent mine away but could face driving around with an old scabby e46 wheel.

Ps I like the work you've done to your Cecil :-)

You have to book in advance but they will turn around the wheel in a week. No spare is provided. I just sucked it up and left the car sitting, it kept the miles down I suppose.

Cost was £250 inc VAT and return shipping. More expensive than others I've seen, but the quality of the work is faultless and I've seen a few people grumbling about "issues" when they've gone elsewhere.

Thanks for your comments on the car. I think I like working on cars more than I do driving them and the CSL has been a great project so far.
