Very poor ad, everything we already know, but nothing about what you need to know!

I didn't know that the CSL used the calipers from the E39 M5, I thought that the front ones were the standard M3 ones on different brackets and that the rear ones were specific to the CSL. Every day is a school day.
I drove mine for the first time in two weeks today, absolutely loved it. I had a new 2.7 Boxster with PDK on Monday as a courtesy car and it was so dull in comparison, the PDK is not a step forwards in that implementation IMO.

reasonable set of images
usual bits need attention
Steering Wheel, drivers door card, rims look a little flat in colour.
Looks like the boot floor has been done
Are these really fetching £50K!!!!!!

AFAIK the £50k is speculation. Not the sale price, perhaps not even the asking price.

Just out of interest how can you tell boot has been done ?
What's wrong with the door card?

Fair dues then maybe it has , a friend saw the car 6months ago and said it needed work doing. I know Since then it's had the subframe done recently.
But the price went up to accommodate that work. Not that I've been looking :hahaha:

Rang abour this one earlier. Seems a very good car. Ex BMW press car.
FSH and boot floor done this year.
From my lengthy chat with the guy I would say it was a good one

Pure guess, I compared the interior boot paintwork to a couple of images I had of mine post repair.
Drivers door card looks like its been opened with a size 10!!

I sold this little number fairly recently.
Its not a press car as far as I know and why would a press car be first registered late 2004, 18 months after launch!
I would think its around the £40-45000 mark

Just to confirm: All the press cars were built in 03, delimited and without options eg. no air-con, radio, etc.

Is this not the Irish car that took an age to sell?
Edit If anyone looks at it have a very close look at the bottom of the n/s door as the Irish car had a poor repair, you could see deep rubbing marks in the right light. This could have been replaced though.

When I enquired I was told that the car had been exported to Ireland and now imported back again. The running-in service had been done at 2291 miles. Seller was looking for £47k.

NJ originally had this car advertised for £35,995, it looks like wishful thinking at £47k

That's not true, like your delimited VIN list isn't accurate either.

Errrrmm :smt017 WRONG !!! :clown: Here are the actual facts :hahaha:
All UK CSLs (even the ones with '04 / '54 reg plates were build in 2003 July to December)
RD03 DJJ ... the BMW Press Car used in the T.G Isle of Man video has: A/C, BMW Business CD , rear parking sensors and even rain sensor wipers, same as...
161 BMW part of the current BMW (GB) HQ collection and originally BMW Press Office other press car which also has: A/C, BMW Business CD, rear parking sensors and rain sensor wipers... not exactly option less CSLs are they Neil ?

Hadn't realised this was the NJ car initially
So firstly we thought this may be worth £50k. What devalues it so much? I know it had a late running in service, but surely that isn't over a £10k impact?
Always found it odd NJ struggled to sell it at mid 30s
So it is the Irish car late running in service no more miles than it was and originally sold for £35,000 ... Suddenly price jumps !!

Talk about me selling mine at the wrong time :banghead::banghead:
I blame Shimmy
Oh well you live and learn and I had 5 great years in mine and lost 6k and at the time I was happy.
Not sure I'd have another one as these prices are getting rather high following the price of Porsches lately.
At least my turbos holding it money.

The seller is a car collector as well as a dealer. We had a lengthy chat, and suffice to say he has some serious motors in his personal collection.
I think he bought this CSL undecided on whether it would be an addition to his collection or for sale. My guess if he can move it on for a tidy profit he will, if not it may stay put for a while. We will see...

I know the seller. I went to see him about a Maserati Ghibli some years ago and he was very hospitable. Had a good chat about cars and he's a top chap. Knows his stuff.
Cheers,

Hello Gents,
I am new to the forum and a hope to be a CSL owner in the future.
I looked at the car when it was for sale with NJ and I was quite keen on it due to the low miles.
I spoke to a friend in Ireland who was familiar with the car. It was previously owned in Ireland by a chap that tracks his cars pretty hard, he said this car had a super charger fitted to it at one point and that the engine has been out of the car. He thought the miles might not be correct either, I couldn't find evidence to suggest the mileage was not correct though. He did say that the car had been driven hard and tracked a fair bit.
In the end it was enough for me to walk away from the car, too many question marks about it's history and provenance coupled with the repainted panels.
I am very piccy and I want a low mileage pampered minter, unfortunately this one wasn't it.
Looking forward to contributing more once I find a good car.

Welcome Bunty
Sound like a little research paid off.
I hope no one on here falls foul of this pup.
Perhaps that's why the car is for sale so quickly again !
