Just thought, for those interested in coming to Spain in the summer.

Montmeló charges around £40 for 20min of the GP circuit roughly once a month, not bad considering booking it for a single day over the weekend costs 24.500€.

It's a shame it doesn't coincide with either F1 or MotoGP.

F1: 8-10 may
MotoGP: 12-14 June
Circuit open track day: 28 June

There are many other options in Spain and Portugal though, whilst your down here enjoying the sun far away from rainy england!
Prices are estimates based on a 1.38 exchange rate. Distances are measured from Barcelona.

Near Malaga, remember to park your cars in Puerto Banus and Marbella after a hot lap in Ascari.

It has 26 turns(13 right and 13 left) individually designed imitating the characteristics of circuits of the likes of Daytona, Silverstone, Spa, Nürburgring, Brands Hatch, Bathurst, etc. As a tribute to Alberto Ascari, there's a chicane that emulates a point where the pilot was killed in 1995.

£9100 - 8h (12.500€)

Amazing for reduced groups. I'll edit in the "trio" as I prefer this over Jerez actually!

http://www.thegrandselection.com/upload/attraction.ascari-race-resort-04439.jpg

Jerez - MotoGP

Personally I think it's overrated, but hey it's still in the GP and has been for like forever.

Ask British Airways why they chose their training base so far down south and while you're at it, ask pilots how they like their 2 year stay down south while they learn to fly! 1 reason: GOOD WEATHER = MANY FLYING DAYS AVAILABLE. Same thing applies to the track -> Possibly the track with best weather in Spain!

Distance from Barcelona: 660 miles

£7600 (full day rest of the year)
£6800 (full day july-august)

Do you have any existing TD dates for Portimao or other good tracks not too far from Ascari in Ocotber or November?

I'm afraid they are hard to come by on the net given it's generally private events that go on in those two circuits. Best bet is to call them and ask if they have any public open days you can join (generally organised by a 3rd party).

+34 952 187 171
+34 952 190 100

I organise track days myself with a mate from uni, if you're interested in doing anything together whilst you're down here it could ease the logistics of it all :).

What numbers/type of cars do you have in mind? He'res a video of our last track day in Calafat last year.

And our best group trip so far, shot and edited by ourselves:
