Pure speculation I would say, I could be wrong (as I often am) but it took BMW 30 years from the E9 to reintroduce the CSL name with the E46.
On that basis the next incarnation should be running on Nitrogen at 20p a ltr.

according to Top Gear 22 jan 2014 there are no plans for a Csl or anything like .... Apparently direct from BMW..:bigcry::bigcry:

Anyone seen Chris Harris latest video? The Megane Trophy R set a quicker lap time than the M3, so perhaps a more focussed track special is needed!

I think some sort of line is crossed when a wing is added.
I know GT3's etc have them, but I think the genius of the CSL was that it was pitched just the right side of the line where you can't really use it every day anymore.
A CSL has got rear seats, tilting recaro's and aircon etc.

It's when they then need to cover half the rear window so you don't see that wing that it gets really impractical :hahaha:

190 Cosworth Evo II, isn't the most practical of cars for reversing. (Evo I far more sensible) That's when things started getting silly IMO.
They had to build them in road-going form in order to race them against the dominant M3's of the period. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C501850
We've only got 15 years to wait to see what the CSL will fetch ;)
