CSL Cup cars

Just been watching some videos from the Csl cup and it got me thinking, were these cup cars from the original build quantity ie start as road cars or were they special builds in addition to the road cars?

They would have been all road cars at some point,but they are not all CSLs,some are Stock M3s modified.😉

As Brett said they were a mix of CSL's and M3's, my race car was my old M3 road car, roof cut out replaced with carbon, stripped and caged, Alcons, std class so pretty much it, but massive fun on slicks for a season

Looks like wicked fun. I see a CSL race car up for £20k last year, would have been a great track only toy if it weren't too knackered.

bought for 25k and then refreshed at Simpsons motorsport. They built the car.

i think it sounds like a a highly tuned in-line 4....ala Honda....

Not that car in the video, Steve's car was reshelled in to a LHD shell in Germany.
