For those of you that have had the repair done by BMW how many have taken the car back for the annual check to maintain the Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee (not transferable)?

According to the paperwork I received the repair/rust has a lifetime guarantee. That is as long as I own it. No annual inspection or car sold then the repair work is only covered for five years. Going to ring the garage today as I only remembered yesterday.

I was told, and it is in writing in the cert, the the garage who did the repair must check it every 12 months for the workmanship warranty to be valid. I find this ridiculous personally. I imagine a few people don't live near where their repair was done.

So basically reading that fineprint, if you miss the insp you atleast have 5 years, but problems will start prob after that!
Curious to know how they have held up corrosion wise.

Rang the garage who carried out the repair & they advised I have to have the repair inspected by them. Why can't we take it to any BMW body shop? Elms is just down the road, but the repair was carried out miles away. :banghead:
