I have to say reading some reports from last year didn't fill me with confidence. Sounded busy, crashy and a bit of a mess to be honest?

Mebbe but there's a lot of risk going TF. Not many TDO's operate there that I know of at around the same price point?

If you can get on a mid-week TF session I think that's possibly one of the safest times. I realise £500 per day is relatively cheap for unlimited laps but from the pictures it looked like a hell of a lot of people out on the track.

This video is from the second day of last year.

One of the days was very frustrating last year, lots of red flags and a few numpty driving incidents. But as you can see from the video above, it's not fair to say that there were lots of cars on track. Just the odd 991 GT3 holding me up :supz:

PS: And I would never do a TF session ever again. First, it's pretty much impossible to get insured even if you wanted to (and I paid £300 for both days of insurance at DN last year) and, second, every time I have been I have only had one clear lap before I've seen the remnants of a car littering the track.

Me too. Deliberating whether to take the GTR and see if I can run up at least a couple of grand in fuel and residual wear on the car (and do insane speeds with no cage) or take the E36 race car and do slower but more fun laps with a bit more safety.
Love DN events. Last year, instead of rushing home at the end of the final day, we headed to Cologne and went on a monster night out. The drive home the next day was pretty challenging, but the night out was a good shout. :blalalala:

I'll likely book July when the bookings open and then if I am still in employment in April then look at booking the Oct one or a Spa trip.
Love the DN days but as has been said already the Wed was a bit of a nightmare this year. Thurs was much better.
Darren did ask for feedback this year though so hopefully be back to normal in 2015.

I will consider it again but if I can get my own car along to coincide with a work trip from experience there are few times less busy than a mid-week evening TF. The majority are locals who know what they're doing because most foreigners travel up for a weekend. The motorbikes can be a pain, mind.
You're right, no insurance is usually a bit of a worry (and speed dampener!) and it would be nice to go insured... which company did you use for that Gregor?
I think most of the problem is I've been a bit (very) spoilt with the Industry Pool days where you can often get a lap to yourself and at most meet 10 cars out there. Everyone knows a specific set of rules, everyone is very predictable and observant and to top it all off you get a marshalled radio system warning you about the track ahead. It makes going in my own car all the more worrying.
If it's genuinely going to happen I'd love to come along and meet some of you guys

DN days are awesome…I'm not sure what one I'm going to book but I am going to try and do at least one. I'd like to do the June date but I think I am on a stag do then.

I used to use CCI for track day insurance at DN events, but recently, Moris have been cheaper. I would recommend Moris.
