Well the Xenons will still be there , but the rest is fully stripped , its a shell now , just been sprayed black inside this week , and next week should be roof , then KW race suspension , BBK , recaro etc etc etc ... then once all thats done the wrap

You don't get much more central than Donny! It's almost as far for me to come from South Somerset and more so when I am back in Cornwall later this year with dave1!

At least it gives you the excuse to have a decent blast in the CSL! :-D Stop being a tightwad! :hahaha:

DazBlackCSL
24-02-2009, 07:58 PM
So here is the full list  :hahaha:

Round 1 & 2 - Rockingham Speedway, Northamptonshire
April 18th - 19th 2009
The big oval always seems a bit souless when you arrive but due to the compact paddock it always seems pretty busy on a race weekend. Spectators are blessed with thousands of seats but they are placed some distance from the track but a quick wander round the circuit will provide some excellent up close viewing positions.
Punch in the Sat-Nav: NN17 5AF

Round 3 & 4 - Brands Hatch Circuit, Kent
June 6th - 7th 2009
Always a big round at Brands Hatch due to its proximatey to London along with its natural easy spectating; you can pretty much see the whole circuit from any place you care to find. The Indy circuit it short, tight and suits the better handling cars and always makes for close racing due to its short nature.
Punch in the Sat-Nav: DA3 8NG

Round 5 & 6 - Donington Park, Derby
July 4th - 5th 2009
Great circuit, great location, right next door to East Midlands airport (although that does mean that jet fuel from the planes can make the track quite slick). Excellent views from loads of places and you need to be there to appreciate the elevation changes on the track (it's certainly not what you'd call 'flat', put it that way). Placed almost certainly on most drivers top 3 circuits in the UK.
Punch in the Sat-Nav: DE74 2RP

Round 7 & 8 - Castle Combe, Wiltshire
July 18th - 19th 2009
Castle Combe is fast and with limited run off, it normally puts a few cars home on flatbeds. The natural amphitheatre means spectating postion is excellent with good views of the entire circuit. The circuit is friendly and the marshals some of the most committed to the track you'll see, the food in the cafe is also suprisingly nice!
Punch in the Sat-Nav: SN14 7EY

Round 9 & 10 - Croft Circuit, North Yorkshire
August 22nd - 23rd 2009
The furthest North the 2009 season will go and another circuit that trackday-ers from the South should experience. The circuit is fast, flowing but with a vicious hairpin coming onto the final straight so always a place for do or die manoevers. The paddock is pretty tight so spectators will get up close and personal to the teams.
Punch in the Sat-Nav: DL2 2PL

Round 11 & 12 - Snetterton Circuit, Norfolk
September 27nd - 28th 2009
Snetterton always has the reputation of being hard to get to but it really isn't (its 90 minutes from the M25) and when you get there its one of the best circuits to spectate from in the UK. With this being the final round of the season it'll certainly be interesting. Circuit wise there are good facilities and a brilliant view over the final chicane - always good for action.
Punch in the Sat-Nav: NR16 2JU

:thumbs:Must say that when I was at Simpson they were preping two cars for the CSL Cup

Not quite, my CSL is there but it won't be going to CSL Cup, have signed up and paid deposit for a couple of rounds of something else that suits my limited free time and budget better.

Car looks good Daz. What weight are you aiming for?

Not sure yet Nath , most of the bits are brand new (carbon) so once back we can start building , and getting it all together ... then see what is possible .. should be very light tho .. will let you know once it starts coming together

Mark CSL
03-03-2009, 12:12 AM
Well Daz are the nerves setting in yet??
Not long till the first outing

DazBlackCSL
03-03-2009, 04:47 PM
Yep well , funny you should say that ... yes !!

Not really nerves as such just a mix of cant wait , will I be quick enough to compete for the top positions and a brand new carbon clad , trixied up race car ... that I hope will stay in one piece .... :smt047

Mark CSL
03-03-2009, 06:44 PM
I am sure you will be fine just make sure you beat John Thorn ;)

SMD
03-03-2009, 06:46 PM
Yes would be good to see you beat John!

DazBlackCSL
03-03-2009, 06:54 PM
lol !!

He is running in the modified class , and im in the standard class , idea being we have a shot at both classes as a team ... although mine will be a carbon copy of John's , what mine will lack in extra wings (DTM Style) and tweaks allowed in modded class , it should make up for in weight , as its having carbon roof , bonnet , front and rear bumpers , all hand made , new KW cup race springs and Alcon Cup brakes etc ... so fingers crossed .. im also not as heavy as john !!!!:smt051:hahaha::smt047

_Nathan_
03-03-2009, 07:51 PM
So much for the standard class being cheap ;)

DazBlackCSL
03-03-2009, 07:53 PM
Its not actually that bad , if you just kept it too brakes and suspension and the basics etc ... just were going a little further ;)

houlbt
03-03-2009, 08:09 PM
Carbon front and rear bumpers!... that could get expensive if it's proper close racing. Nice though touches though.
