This is my car that I owned for several years. I cannot bring myself to look at the for sale ad links as it almost makes me cry and want to withdraw it from sale.
If anyone is looking for a good one, Bartlett and Gareth took my well-maintained car and did an excellent job of fixing the small niggles that needed sorting (like the steering wheel) and prepping it for sale. Happy to answer questions for any prospective buyer.

Sorry 'GregorJP', 57 watchers at last count and re-advertised on ebay at the same price for the 3trd time: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111589719869?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The NJ style of description obviously isn't working!
I'm beginning to think it's too cheap, (automatic thoughts would be; what's wrong with it?) compared with others, conclusion - put the price up and perhaps it will sell.

If it had a BMW warranty I would be interested, price seems about right for the mileage, I am sure if it was £1k lower it would sell. If it had 10k fewer miles I would be all over it. Quite a few at this mileage point for sale at the moment.

I must admit, this:
so please dont insult us with offers
Just rubs me up the wrong way. You mean you'd not take a pound less? Immaterial as I'm not buying but it would put me off, and if it puts me off......

That puts me off too, and I am a buyer, along with phrases like 'this won't hang around', 'first to see will buy', 'appreciating asset'. Describe the car and let the buyer make their mind up.

The advert doesn't do the car any favours, hence the comment previously made re 'The NJ style description' The less is more philosophy doesn't work when it comes to advertising a CSL.
Unrestricted? BMW's description is 'delimited' (as in the 155mph limiter has been removed) which makes this particular CSL one of only 49 UK examples to have been produced.
The AP's are clearly visible in the photographs. That's added 2K to the asking price, so you could look at it as - they're free! ;)

Decent mileage, factory de-limit, perfect spec, CSLR owner, breathed on by Gareth & Damian, APs, it looks simply stunning - if I was still a questor; I'd be turning up at Bartlett for a good hard snoop around it . . . just tipping over £30k - what's not to like?
Temperatures are rising . . . this will go soon and I suggest there will be regrets.
These cars are not static, mine was bought as a 70k car, its now an 80k car and next year it will be a 90k car - use it up, wear it out, long time dead.
No point wasting time waiting for buses that get less likely to arrive every day.
If you want one, grow a pair and GET ONE !

I had a look round this csl when @ Bartlett last October.
It had just arrived and so was at pre-detailing/sorting cosmetics stage.
Damian/Gareth and the team are arguably the UK's no1 indie for csl fettling and so I'm confident this example will stand up to any scrutiny.
Priced very fairly in the current market with the best mod already fitted with the AP BBK.
This will be gone in early spring.

I am hearing a lot of positive things about this car and the dealer. Exactly the sort of thing I joined the forum for, I might go and take a look myself.

Looks perfect that one. Nice mileage (not too low, not too high) AP's and Gareth's been over it.

looks a bargain on the face of it
AP's are £2K straight away
Interesting comment on the warranty .. how many other cars over 10 years old would you expect to get a manufacturers warrenty on ? Certainly not a £50K 996 gt3 for example :blalalala:

"10K fewer miles" - Just for information; one was advertised last October with 59K the asking price was £36,950, it didn't belong to a member of this auspicious community and it wasn't a delimited! ;)

While that may prove to be true ;) the Advert needs to be urgently revised & improved as at present it's letting a good car down :banghead:

I wonder if Nicole Sherzerfurzererz comes with a warranty and if her previous beau left her trumper in perfect, un-molested condition for the enjoyment and satisfaction of future owners?

Surely your not suggesting that Lewis is more into Shirtlifting rather than Scherzingering! :hahaha:

RM Auctions just sold a Z8 from 2000 for £126,000 - that'll get closer to £140k with premiums.
Firstly, RM are punting the BMW brand and secondly, something like this must bring attention to other BMW limited edition "specials" - if you know of any.

Guys, sorry for the delay in responding to this. Bartlett took a deposit on the car during the week and, subject to the buyer turning up with the remainder of the money, it's sold.
For the record, I agree with the comments about the advertisement and in fact Damian and I had discussed that the advertisement needed to be changed. But Bartlett had done such an amazing job at looking after the car, getting it ready for sale and generally treating me fairly that I figured that the car would sell in any case. People looking for CSLs can typically see past the advertisement and will want to view the car and its history carefully before buying it. I also put my car into another well-known dealer before Bartlett and had a bad experience. Gareth is, in my view, the best BMW tech for such a rare car and I was comforted by the fact that he knew the car and was able to address any niggles and generally vouch for it. The service at Bartlett was great and I recommend them.
I've been a member of this forum whilst owning the car and I have to say that it's been an amazing source of knowledge and information. Every CSL owner I've ever met out and about has also been a decent guy, so I am very sorry to see the car go because I will not be part of this small community. Thanks all.
I also cannot resist a parting shot about prices and increases in value. You're right that my car was advertised at a cheaper price than others. There could have been an opportunity to hang on and squeeze the last couple of grand out of it. But...I've owned the car and enjoyed it, and I've maintained it 100% regardless of cost. Upon selling it, I'm about even - I'm certainly not richer but equally I've experience the rare pleasure of owning a rare performance car at no cost. So rather than taking the APs off and trying to squeeze every last drop of value, I'm happy to see it go at a reasonable price to someone who will enjoy the car the same way. It's a cracker and I will miss it greatly.

Up on the ramps for the first time. Wheels changed for ones with new MPSS tyres on them. Oil and filter changed. 6l out, 5.5l back in. I will check the level and top up if needed. Fitting the tracker tomorrow.
