Hi all,
Just wondering, what temperature do people wait for there oil temperature gauge get to before letting it rip?

Thanks

James.

Same, usually half way between 75 / 100.

CSLjimmy, yeah the shift lights go off as the Oil gets up to the right temp (which is one amber and two red I think). On reg M3s, the lights go out as the water temp goes up, which doesnt make sense cos the oil wont be warm.

That's very precise! :hahaha: and a bit too low a limit I'd say.

Anything upto 4,000 is fine when cold. I don't go above that until the lights have gone out, since they're tied to the oil temp on the CSL (unlike the M3 where they're tied to water temp).

Anyway why's it 2700 and not 2800 or even 2750? :-D

Well it's been alright for me for over 5 years, not gonna start worrying now :bigcry:

And 4,000 is below the minimum warmup light, and only half the maximum rev limit.

It's fiiiiiiine
