I bought this, this week by mistake to find it doesnt fit a E46 M3 as its made for a touring car.

The advert is below:

Like new condition BMW 4.1 CWP DREXLER LSD 188 complete diff unit, this was part of a spares package for a car we had but has since been sold on so now surplus to requirements, as you would expect this is a very high spec top quality piece of equipment and new costs 7500 euros from bmw motorsport, as you can see the alloy cover plate has been modified so you can run diff cooling fittings if needed.

I just spoke to JC Racing:
http://www.jcracing.info/

Who suggested to take the Drexler 4.1 crown and pinion out and fit it to another BMW 188 casing diff as the casing on these is different and not worth anything.

£800 collected or £875 posted to one UK address.

Advertised elsewhere.

Can I take the internals out and put them into E36 325 or 328 diff?

You may well be able to yes, just change the input and output flanges

That is what he suggested to me after agreeing it would fit E46

I'm being dim - what does 4.1 & 3.2 mean?

I'm being dim - what does 4.1 & 3.2 mean?

In this case it means, 4.1 is the diff ratio on this diff, and 3.2 is the diff unit Adem has in his Convertible (from and E36 M3 evo 3.2)

My financial controller has vetoed the purchase anyway....apparently we are not entering the WTCC and I should keep my sights slightly lower down the budget scale.
