One owner schwon owner............ gobbledegook. What difference does that make? So the arse shape on the seats is more permanent/embedded ???
One owner and a low mileage maybe but at the end of the day it depends on what condition it is in. Always garaged would be more important to me. Anyway it only has 18" wheels, apparently.

How long has this actually been for sale for? I bought mine last May and I'm pretty sure this appeared after then. Either way it's been for sale for a long time.
And I agree with Yanto, I would be looking at the old price of £27k and offering less, a lot less.

Yikes! That seems a bit drastic for what could be a perfectly usable car.
All the faults that have been leveled at this car could be pointed at mine but missing a few services and needing a bit of paint does not seem like grounds for breaking to me. I assume it's just priced incorrectly for the amount of remedial work required. Unless someone knows something I don't

cheap car. seat is easily fixable as is the paint and alloys. just paint the worn steering wheel plastic or get carbon bits from mark.
go in with £25k cash and job done.
if I had a double garage it would be no brainer. would be nice next to the GT3.
are people saying its got sth wrong engine wise?

Hi Chaps
I bought this car.
yes it needs money spent on it but at that price it was a bargain..
Besides, it's not going to be my daily driver as I have an e93 m3 too so I have plenty of time to get the work done.
I had the engine checked out my my mechanic, engine is in pretty good shape as is the gearbox, diff was grinding slightly but that may just need friction modifier.

I thought it was stamped up to 50k a few years back then no more? if that's just an missing stamp that's great.
Sounds a brilliant buy for that price. Bet the dealer was happy to see it go.
Does it need much bodywork doing? I never ended up seeing it as the dealer out me off over phone!

It stamped up until 57k, then it was missing a stamp.
I'm going to send it in for an Inspection 2 service anyway even though it's due an oil service next, piece of mind knowing that it has fresh fluids everywhere.
I've dealt with the dealer before when I bought my e46 m3 cabby from him, I managed to knock a fair bit off that too, that car only had 26k miles on it, nothing wrong with it although some of the cars he sells are scrap.
Body work is fine, it could do with a bumper re paint but the rest is fine, i'll be re painting the whole thing at some point, only because I have OCD's.
work that needs doing as follows
new splitters (currently wrapped with vinyl) not sure on condition underneath
seat bolster needs be re trimmed
steering wheel needs to be re trimmed (Royal steering wheel)
top and bottom steering wheel parts needs refresh, will order new from bmw.
wheels need a refurb, will buy new tires too

Good work. Glad to hear that someone picked it up. These cars are getting on an bit now and I think some people have unrealistic expectations of what to expect from a ~12/13 year old car. Getting all sniffy over a ripped bolster and patchy history is bonkers if the car is fundamentally sound and can be had for the right price. A bit of elbow grease and she'll be right.
The best thing about having a shaggy dog rather than a garage queen is you won't be scared to use it.

The GT3 is a significantly different car to the cooking 911 though. The differences are more pronounced than between the M3 and the M3 CSL. This will surely affect the premiums. That and the engine problems on the non GT3/ turbo cars.
MC
Das Chin
12-04-2015, 10:07 AM
agreed. only those who missed out on a GT3 and the general retarded on Pistonheads come out with all that crap.
the mezger engine is a work of art, has the motorsport heritage right back to le mans (GT1 engine minus the blowers) and it does not have the issues of the 996 and 997s. plus all the other components such as suspension, adjustable ARBs, camber, uprated braking, aero, cooling, exhausts etc etc.
its just no comparison apart from the 911 badge and the shape. maybe front panels and the bonnet ;-) same for the CSL really.
there is a lot of difference between M3 and the CSL. its listed on here somewhere. defo 20ks worth. again look at the CSL to m3 values...it will be similar to that of the 997 and then the GT3.

here's a quick update on the car
So in the few weeks of ownership I've had the following done
Had the wheels refurbished
New Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres all round
Had the seat bolsters re trimmed
Steering wheel re trim
New dash and gear stick cover (titan shadow) inserts
Storm motorwerks gear stick and paddles
New flippers
I've also re calibrated the SMG clutch using INPA, the car is driving flawlessly.
Next up, inspection2 service :-)

I was wondering how long it will take to get noticed on here!
I can assure you that this car is tidy, pictures can be deceiving I agree, I've spent a hell of a lot of money to get this car looking like this. A few people have seen this car when it was for sale at sh, it wasn't pretty but then it only cosmetics which I have had rectified.
A lot of cutters have also seen this car, read the comments on the for sale thread and then you'll make your mind up on how I like to keep the condition of my cars.
The gear knob and steering wheel can easily be put back to oem, personally I like them.
I'll be at the eta meet on Saturday if anyone would like to view it

Sorry, wasn't a derogatory comment. It does genuinely look mint. I always find the first time someone hand washes a car they see warts and all.
