Hi All
Had the CSL on the ramp for a check over after finally getting it back from BMW after a year and a half (long story more of that later) and noticed oil weeping from the diff seal from the front. Thought why on earth did they not tell me whilst they had the car especially as they had worked around this area??
Anyway decided would get all 3 seals for the diff and replace them in one go along with the oil. Only problem is no dealers seem to have this oil as they claim it's only available in a barrel and there is not enough demand. Contacted Opie Oils and wasn't convinced they could supply the correct oil. Munich Legends have kindly offered to sell me a couple of litres from their drum but just wanted to ask if anyone has any other contacts locally to me as I'm based in Heathrow.
Any information is appreciated

Many Thanks

Kamran

The diff oil is: Castrol SAF-XJ 75W140 including Friction modifier.
You can indeed order at your BMW dealer.
Part number: 83 22 2 282 583
It will come as 3x0.5L, not as barrel, whatever they told you...
Best.

I can second that Adem . I used castrol diff oil and half a bottle of redline FM. Works great and quietened the diff to nothing.

Thanks for the heads up gents, I need to visit this thread more often. Managed to obtain the fluid from a dealer and replace it and seems to have rectified the issue.
