Single knock, only happens occasionally when braking (not every time) Thoughts ?

What speed are you doing Yanto when you're braking?

Start cheap
Wheel off
Look for anything obvious, caliper bolts to the carrier loose or under torqued
pad orientation
OSR RTAB could have a little play?
I'm no expert but a few simple safety checks could point the way.

Strange I get a knock now and again from front near side when braking at low speeds. Always happens after the car has been pressure washed.
Reply doesn't help but it reminds me to put it on the list for Gareth to check

Top mounts? But then it wouldn't really only be happening under breaking at slow speeds. Just a thought.

Sounds like a worn caliper carrier so when you press the brake it lifts the pad which causes a knock!!
Try this:reverse slow then brake then go forward slow then brake if you hear it knock once when you brake in reverse then knocks going forward its a brake pad or carrier worn!!
Copper slip cure that!!
