This is a group buy FEELER for the Motion Motorsports Aluminum Underpanel for the E36 & E46 M3 which was produced a few years ago but hasn’t been on their website lately due to a lack of customer demand.

However, based on the level of interest Motion Motorsports is willing to order another batch production order should we reach a minimum level of interest as a group and has provided us with a great price incentive!

The E46 M3 Underpanel Description: GBP 108*

The Motion Motorsport Aluminum Underpanel for the E46 M3 chassis is designed to replace the factory molded plastic front splash panel sections that are known to tear, crack, and sheer off both on the street and at the track.

The Underpanel:

This piece is fully CAD designed with all pieces precision CNC laser cut and formed. It consists of a 1-piece .080" aluminum panel utilizing a unique bracket system which connects straight to the chassis. You can rest easy if you are missing or have damaged your OEM plastic fender liners as the underpanel does not require these pieces individually or in combination since it relies on other points of strength to remain fastened to the car. The hardware included in the kit is high quality stainless steel.

The underpanel improves underbody aerodynamics, cooling system airflow management, protects the engine bay components like the radiator, pulleys, and belts from dirt and debris, and extends backwards, terminating at the chassis' reinforcement plate.

The E36 M3 Underpanel Description: GBP 97*

The Motion Motorsport Aluminum Underpanel for the E36 chassis is designed to replace the factory molded plastic front splash panel sections that are known to tear and sheer off both on the street and at the track.

The Underpanel:

This piece is fully CAD designed with all pieces precision laser cut and CNC punched. Designed to be superior to anything else currently on the market, it consists of a 1-piece .080" aluminum panel utilizing a unique a bracket system which connects straight into the frame rails. The brackets have been engineered and tested to hold more than 300lbs of downward force without failure. Additionally, the easy removal system features threaded studs mounted into the bumper that allows for a very quick and simple removal and re-installation of the underpanel. Finally, you can rest easy if you are missing or have damaged your OEM plastic fender liners or pork chops as the underpanel does not require these pieces individually or in combination since it relies on other points of strength (brackets straight to the frame rails and bumper studs) to remain fastened to the car. The Motion Motorsport underpanel positively postitions the fender liner pieces and supports the often flimsy plastic, as opposed to the common method of relying on them to support the rearward portion of the tray.

The underpanel protects the engine bay components like the radiator, pulleys, and belts from dirt and debris, and extends backwards, terminating just in front of the factory sway bar.

The hardware included in the kit is very high quality stainless steel and corrosion resistant automotive grade steel. The frame rail inserts that aid in securing the brackets to hold the underpanel are of a high quality engineering grade nylon, rated to outlast other common grade nylon inserts.

Aerodynamics:

Beyond the primary function and intent of a splash panel, airflow is a major consideration in designing an underpanel, both under the front bumper, and through the auxiliary fan, AC condenser, and radiator assembly. Underneath the front lip of the car, the Motion Motorsport underpanel rakes upwards front to back, supported and positioned by our bracketed design. This helps to assist in inducing a low pressure area underneath the front end at high speed for additional stability (supported by the contributed rigidity of our frame rail brackets) and isolate turbulent air moving through the auxiliary fan/condenser/radiator and into the engine compartment above like any other underpanel. All of our independent test mule cars have noted significantly improved high speed stability over any other kit on the market.

The E36 M3 guys will need this Optional Radiator Baffle kit: GBP 24*
The Motion Motorsport Radiator Baffle for the E36 chassis is designed for the dual-purposed street/track application where improved cooling efficiency is desired. It is the perfect addition to your Motion Motorsport E36 M3 Underpanel Kit.

The Function:

This kit has been designed to help maximize cooling efficiency for those hot days on a radiator-busting road course (such as our local NHMS and NJMP), or on the street. We have observed 10 - 15 degree F water temperature reductions at the cylinder head during A/B testing over other common baffling solutions when supplementing a functioning, optimized cooling system.

The Application:

An aftermarket puller electric fan, or aftermarket unshrouded pusher is a recommended prerequisite in conjunction with the use of this kit, however the original equipment auxiliary fan is compatible. The kit features a punch-out to accommodate the stock electric auxiliary fan harness plug. Aftermarket or retrofit radiators are compatible as well, provided the core geometry as viewed from the front is similar.

Please note: This kit will not fit cars equipped with the automatic transmission cooler without modification.

As this is a feeler we are trying to sort out shipping, the shipping was coming out double the price of the panel due to the size.

On the other hand E36 guys are luckier as there's came out to something like £40ish only lol.

I'll update you on Monday when I have more answers on shipping,

I received my under panel back from the power coaters and it looks awesome. Will pits pics after the match.

It'll look good no matter what and the extra ground clearance is a PLUS PLUS. I powder coated mine black for the stealth look.
